First, I like this book, enough to want more. Second, it's the first volume of a trilogy, and the ending is somewhat abrupt, even frustrating. But it's worth reading, and I think, worth waiting for the rest. Some lovely world building, and interesting characterization in the main character. Once aga...

Gorgeous lush complex world and so heartbreaking towards the end. Politics are messy regardless of what world you are in. I can't wait for the sequel.

"My Little Pony" for smart girls. But still.I've read everything Robin McKinley has published, I'm pretty sure, and 'The Blue Sword' is in my top-10 favorite books of all time.I was really excited to read this book - and it wasn't horrible, but it was rather disappointing and mildly annoying. I might...

Didn't finish. It just sort of meandered about with no declarable plot, and considering I'd been spoiled that there was no proper ending and no sequel in sight, I gave up.

This book is so good that I can't even begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed it. Every single time I read her book th...

I've loved Robin McKinley's books ever since I read The Blue Sword in high school. It's great to see another original fantasy from her (rather than a fairy-tale retelling). It's going to be a long wait until the next installment comes out.

I liked 99.9% of this book. The world building was beautiful, the pegasi were interesting, and Sylvi, while horribly naive and a bit useless, was all right. Ebon was a good character. The cultures were believable and intricate. It was too slow for my tastes, though--far too slow. And it made me wonde...

This book might be the most disappointing thing I read in 2012. I wanted this book for so long but it simply fell flat for me! The concept of this story sounds absolutely amazing. This take on Pegasus lore was really interesting and it seemed like it was going to be a great read. Even though it was ...

Ugh, this book. In a good way. In a where-the-hell-is-the-sequel-omgomgomg way. (HOW did I not know this was not a standalone? Be warned! Ye Olde Cliffhanger looms!) This is the sort of book that would have enraptured me at twelve, and I want to give it to all sorts of twelve year old girls, because...
