Peter Gregoire is author of 'Article 109', the best-selling Hong Kong legal thriller which reached Number 1 on Dymock's top-seller list in February 2013, after winning the Proverse Prize in 2011. 'Article 109' lifts the lid on Hong Kong's fragile status as an international finance centre and the role it has to play in China's unrelenting march to economic superpowerdomIn 2008 Peter won the Standard/RTHK short story competition with his story "Dispute resolution", a tale in which the Olympic race-walking event in Beijing reaches out to heal a broken relationship between a father and his son in suburban England. Born in the United Kingdom, Peter moved to Hong Kong in May 2003 to further his legal career and engage with his Eurasian roots. He is currently the head of the legal department, and a director of the Hong Kong subsidiary of one of the largest general insurance groups in the world. During his career Peter has been responsible for implementing anti-money laundering, anti-fraud and anti-corruption compliance systems, dealing with ICAC investigations and litigating complex financial disputes and frauds through both the English and Hong Kong courts. Much of Peter's fiction draws on this professional experience, his experience of Hong Kong and China, his love of family and his respect for history.
