Peter Orszag is a Vice Chairman of Corporate and Investment Banking at Citigroup, where he also serves as the Chairman of the Financial Strategy and Solutions Group.As a weekly contributor for Bloomberg View, Peter Orszag's columns cover a range of topics concerning economics, health care, and political economy. He also serves as a Nonresident Senior Fellow in Economic Studies at the Brookings Institution Previous positions include serving as the 37th Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Obama, where Orszag crafted the federal budget. He was also the Director of the Congressional Budget Office; a Senior Economist, Senior Adviser on the Council of Economic Advisers, and Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy under President Clinton.Orszag serves on the Board of Directors of the New Visions for Public Schools in New York, the Peterson Institute for International Economics, Mt. Sinai Hospital, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.Orszag is an author and contributor of several books about American politics. As a co-editor of American Economic Policy in the 1990s, he examined lessons for policymakers in the world of economics. Orszag and coauthors examined current trends in retirement and offered ideas for reform that would help Americans save in Aging Gracefully: Ideas to Improve Retirement Security in America. With Peter Diamond (awarded the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 2010), Peter Orszag discussed ways to preserve Social Security in Saving Social Security: A Balanced Approach.Orszag received a bachelor's degree in economics from Princeton and his master's and doctorate from the London School of Economics.
