The one thing I don't like about series is that sometimes they lose the main focus. The main couple should always be that. I loved the scenes with Josie and Mayne early on and felt the balance was alright, but then once we are in the stables the next two chapters are leaving us with a cliffhanger! I...

Just like the book before this one it again took until chapter seven for me to get into this story. So anyway I really wish it would stop being mentioned how much older Garrett is than Josie because it makes me feel icky with how much older he is than Josie. This story begins for me when Garrett a...

I forgot how much I enjoyed the Essex sisters books until I reread this one - love Josie and Mayne together. Lots of plot lines going on in this one, but they were easy to keep straight. One of James' better books.

Could have finished about 50 pages earlier than it did. Mayne and Josie are delightful, but Josie's fat hate and poor self image in this book are not enjoyable and they're a lot of the story. It's a pity that her book is less about the delicious spiky wit and frankness she had in the first three boo...

As much as I enjoyed this book, because it's just a FUN read... I have to say that I had a hard time pushing the "ick" factor to the back of my mind.Mayne deserves to be happy. As does Josie. But, I had a tough time with the differences in Imogen's and Rafe's ages... there's a MUCH BIGGER gap betwee...

Alright of the 4 from this series I was really looking forward to this one. I love Josie and was really curious and excited to see what would happen to her in this book but I was disappointed. First off the description on the back of the book (seen above) is very misleading and a bit confusing which...

I would have rated this with 4 stars if the author had restrained herself from Josie's last trick (and Josie's rationalization for the trick) because at that point Josie became the dreaded TSTL. I liked Griselda's romance, although it was quite underdeveloped with all the other shenanigans going on ...

Who can resist the ugly duckling and the ultimate bad boy pairing up! Hot and steamy too!I am currently on a Regency kick an...

The last book in the Essex series. While it was marginally better than the middle two books, it still missed the mark for me. This was also the last of Eloisa James' books that I read. Too bad, I rather liked that the author had some interesting ideas and some good themes here and there, but over al...
