This novel continues the tale of the 12 dancing princesses that started in Princess of the Midnight Ball (my review). Here the protagonist is one of the younger princesses, Poppy. A few years have passed since the first novel. Poppy is sixteen and visiting her mother’s cousins in the neighboring kin...

Princess of Glass by Jessica Day George is not the Disney Cinderella you know, and, having read a lot of Cinderella retellings, I'm pleased to say it still brings something new to the table. Poppy is part of a royal study abroad--minus the studying--to make nice with countries whose princes died aft...

I was really excited that there was a sequel to Princess of the Midnight Ball. I loved that book so much and I was really sad because I didn't think that there were any other books. Turns out I was wrong! I had really high hopes for this book! It wasn't as good as the first book, but it was still pr...

I have always liked Cinderella. Recently I have encountered four or five different Cinderellas and I haven't liked any of them. Ella in this one I felt was a snivling twit. That being said I did like the prince, Poppy and the story.

Zzzzz. Mmmm. Wha? Sorry? Oh right, I was reading, not sleeping. It's just that this book? Bored me to death. Too simple, too easy, too predictable, too vague for any real tension, nor for any real sense of character to develop for the entire cast. An interesting idea - what happened to the Twelve Da...

I honestly think I liked this one more than the first! I think it's because it's further from the original tale than Princess of the Midnight Ball. I can't wait to read the final book in this series (so hurry up, Jessica Day George!)

Poppy, one of the twelve princesses from the country of Westfalin (Germany) has been sent to one of the neighbouring countries on a diplomatic exchange. She keeps being invited to balls, but due to a life-time of having to dance nightly due to a now broken curse, she prefers gambling at card tables ...
