An old man comes into Laine Tavish's store out of the storm, acting like he knows her, begging her to call him. When he leaves, he's run down by a car and as he lies dying in Laine's arms, he sings a portion of a song...The song her father used to sing when they were forced to leave suddenly when sh...

Hot Rocks - Nora Roberts I read Big Jack because I'm currently trying to make my way through the In Death series by JD Robb, but I didn't realize that there was a beginning part to this story. If you have read Remember When by Nora Roberts and JD Robb (who are the same person) then you have alr...

Part one of this romantic suspense was set in current day and part two is fifty years later. The first story with the romance was pretty good but I got bored with the second half which was just continued crime solving without romance. Laine gets drawn into a theft that might involve her father and...

I really hated the heroine at first, but then she smartened up enough for me to not hate her. Unfortunately, then I kinda hated everyone else. I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with this story, but I just didn't dig it much. I'm not sure why, but I'm just kinda "meh" about it.

I liked the first half of this but the second half dragged and felt a little slow. The descriptions were a bit heavy and it read more like a screenplay in parts rather than a novel. I did enjoy the premise but it probably could have been a very sharp short story or filled out with a little more goin...

A serviceable romantic suspense that was mostly enjoyable to read. I liked the characters a lot. They were witty and fun. And we get a Heroine who basically saves herself. The biggest problem with the story was Laine and Max's insta-love on speed. They went from meeting each other to engaged in, lit...

Audiobook. This was actually 2 books in one. I loved getting to know the past story and then having it brought into the future to tie in with Eve and Rourke. Once again the narrator did a fantastic job with the voice acting. I love listening to this series. Will definitely continue.

Again, this book was a book that was lent to me. If I had seen it on display somewhere I would have disregarded it completely. And I did for awhile as well on my own bookshelf until last weekend. And then I tore through the book in a couple of days. It was just what I needed. An intriguing story, r...
