River's End by Nora Roberts Olivia's parents were among Hollywood's golden couples…until the night a monster came and took her mother away forever. A monster with the face of her father... Sheltered from the truth, an older Olivia only dimly recalls her night of terror—but her recurring nightm...

When she was four, Olivia McBride found her father leaning over her mother’s mutilated body, covered in her blood, and ran in fear. She’s been running ever since, burying the memories, locking them away as she was taught by her overprotective grandmother. Now, twenty years later, it seems running, h...

As I read River's End, I kept being reminded of Roberts' later book [b:The Witness|12716613|The Witness|Nora Roberts|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1329921937s/12716613.jpg|17851429]. It's not that I think Roberts plagiarised herself -- more like she decided to rework her basic heroine a...

Audio version - I love the set-up for this one, though the end feels a bit rushed and there are some sappy moments, even for a romance. However, still a good listen.

This is the Nora that I know and love. She has a wonderful way of telling a story. I loved this book. It was fun to see Olivia and Noah fall in love. Having Noah be the first to admit it only sweetened the story. The book follows both of them at different points in their lives and how the trage...

This did NOT do it for me. I can handle mystery when she writes as JD Robb, so it isn't that I don't like how she sets up a story. I think this one was just too weak and entirely too drawn out to stand up on its own. I probably shouldn't want to punch both main characters by the end of the book.

This is not your typical mystery or suspense but it has all of the elements to make it a really good story. Olivia is as complex as they come but Noah was the perfect man to help her tear down the walls she built to cope with the tragic circumstances of her childhood. While a suspect was imprisone...

After reading a few too many lackluster, hard to get into and hard to stick with until the end novels this one reminded me of all the reasons I use to buy Nora Roberts books the minute they were released (can't do that anymore). Her characterization just grabs me from the first page and her books ar...
