S. E. Lindberg resides near Cincinnati, Ohio working as a microscopist, employing his skills as a scientist and artist to understand the manufacturing of products analogous to medieval paints. Two decades of practicing chemistry, combined with a passion for the Sword and Sorcery genre, spurred him to write Dyscrasia Fiction: graphic adventure fictionalizing the alchemical humors.Visit his blog: sethlindberg.blogspot.comDyscrasia Fiction explores the choices humans and their gods make as a disease corrupts their souls, shared blood and creative energies. Historically, dyscrasia referred to any imbalance of the four medicinal humors professed by the ancient Greeks to sustain life (phlegm, blood, black and yellow bile). Artisans, anatomists, and chemists of the Renaissance expressed shared interest in the humors; accordingly, the scope of humorism evolved to include aspects of the four alchemical elements (water, air, earth and fire) and psychological temperaments (phlegmatic, sanguine, melancholic and choleric). In short, the humors are mystical media of color, energy, and emotion; Dyscrasia Fiction presents them as spiritual muses for artisans, sources of magical power, and contagions of a deadly disease.

Stylistically, that was a very interesting read, one with a mix of high fantasy, pulp adventure, and visceral horror. It worked as well as I could have hoped, if not bette...

I received this book free from a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. Thank you for the chance to win!I just really did not like this book. It was unique and like nothing I have ever read before, though I hope I never do again. I'm sorry for the author, but I really did not enjoy this book at all.

I won this from the Goodreads First Reads Giveaway. This book was very well written. The author has quite an imagination and an impressive vocabulary. However, it was far too dark and violent for me to finish reading it. I tried, but it is just not my cup of tea. It sort of reminded me of a mix of th...

I don't generally read a lot of small-press or self-published books, but when one snags my attention, I'm more than willing to give it a shot. Lords of Dyscrasia is one of those books where everything fell into place - the cover caught my eye; the review blurb comparing it to "the works of Poe and L...
