This book was a disappointment. It started off with a gritty edge and an interesting premise. In the end it was all fluff. So predictable.
3.5 rounded up
2.75 stars I'm really confused why this is labeled paranormal and called the Assassin/Shifter series... seeing as there is nothing supernatural about it. But anyway, I digress. I liked this, although it was not the most original story-line and as soon as Mateo mentioned that bracelet aka: trackin...
Fun quick read. Bad ass assassin falls for innocent guy he was supposed to kill. Mateo didn't spend too much time holding out on Riley, but I enjoyed watching them together. There was quite a bit of sex, but also mystery, suspense and action. Neither had very good childhoods, but it was fun to se...
I didn't get to the anal beads. And I can't say I am upset about that. This book felt like someone edited part of the relationship out the story. First off Riley is the mark and Mateo is set to kill him. Then out of nowhere Mateo calls his boss, someone shoots at Mateo, then his boss Derek(apparentl...
I didn't like the insta-love, the MCs were totally exchangable (tough ex-military and weak "boy" to protect), all in all very cliched. It felt like a real bad m-f romance, especially as the successful CEO (!) started pouting and behaving in general like a 13 year old girl with a bad crush on Macho M...
Not quite a three. It wasn't bad despite my not-quite-three rating. It was just, that everything about it was so very mediocre. The writing, the plot, the romance, the characters, the sex. And bored me a bit to be honest. I think the only character I truly rooted for was the General and his failing r...
Although this story had a pretty predictable plot, it was still a pleasant read. Riley and Mateo are from very different backgrounds and you really don't get a lot of in depth information about them, but I enjoyed them and would really like to have their story continue.
I picked up this story because I noticed part of this series is contemporary romance while part of it is paranormal romance. I was intrigued by that aspect and wanted to see how the series could incorporate both contemp then pnr. I haven't gotten that far yet into the series but what I've read so fa...
