This is a difficult book for me to rate because I tend to judge these kinds of books on different criteria than others I’ve read that are genuinely well-written and emotionally stirring. The prose and structure of Cinders & Sapphires were mediocre, but as pure entertainment, this book is A++. So I’v...

I was right in my earlier prediction. I did not finish at page 75. This book just wasn't for me. I definitely got hung up on the fact that in the prologue it talks about the wind tugging at her hat, but less than two pages later it makes mention that she's not wearing a hat, multiple times. That's k...

Not a Great Novel but definitely a fun (and fast) read.

That's why, when I heard that a new book that was coming out, Cinders & Sapphires, that was a historical fiction young adult book with romance in it, I knew I ...

Guys, you know how much I love adult historical romance. And I haven't yet found that excitement I get from the romance and the dresses and everything in a YA historical romance before, but Cinders & Sapphires was everything I could have wanted! It was what I wanted the Luxe series to be, but what i...

As a fan of well done historicals, I eagerly dove into Cinders & Sapphires. I was expecting drama and scandal, mostly revolving around the two characters mentioned in the summary, Rose and Ada. And we definitely get that, in spades. But I wasn't expecting all the other stories going on in this book....

I couldn't put this book down. It was full of intrigue and courtly gossip. Downton Abbey for teens with an East Inda Trading Company feel. The writing is super good and the characters well thought out and portrayed well for the time period. A completely lush and guilty pleasure read. Highly recommen...
