This was an odd read for me. I couldn't put it down and read it almost in one sitting. I just didn't love it though. It's one of those books that's fun to read but you wouldn't want to read it again. I think my opinion is a bit skewed because I've finished [b:Haze|15765699|Haze (The Rephaim, #2)...

I initially snagged a copy of this title from Netgalley. It's one of those books I've heard of and probably had on my TBR list at some point but never got around to reading it. Since it was available on Netgalley (either with read it now or auto approval, I can't remember) I figured great time to gi...

Angel books tend to go one way or another for me, I either really like them or hate them. Shadows immediately fell into the latter category. It's hard to rate this book. On one hand it has a really good concept going for it but on the other hand the writing is stilted and telegraph like at times. There are plenty paragraph in the book where sentences are started over and over again like this, "I did..." "I saw..." "I felt.." or "He said....

This review and others are posted at Inspiring Insomnia. How does an author write a story about angels while maintaining a sense of originality? Give the main character a major case of memory loss. Gaby, the narrator, is still mourning the loss of her brother, Jude, in a car accident. She doesn't ...
