Had to read this one for class - very interesting thoughts on the meaning of poetry and how kids can relate to it. Plus - lots of Walter Dean Myers! Who doesn't love WDM? A cute book - easily understood by grades 6 and under.

When I was in 5th grade, my teacher read this aloud to my class. Unfortunately I can't remember enough to actually write a review. So once I re-read it, I will write a review. Review to come!

I wish someone would tell me exactly what a journal is. When I asked my mother, she said, "Well, it's like a diary only different." That helps. She was going to explain more, but. I read Walk Two Moons in 7th grade English and I loved it! Sal's character is so real and relatable and she is just an awesome protagonist. Phoebe, in my opinion, is kind of annoying because she was very judgmental about Mrs. Cadaver, even though she hardly knew her! But Phoebe was the only characte...

After reading [b:Love That Dog|53498|Love That Dog|Sharon Creech|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1349043084s/53498.jpg|984829], I was thrilled to see that Hate That Cat was available at my local library. I loved this one just as much as the first. I wish I had younger kids to read these ...

Oh, this was SUCH a good book. Short and very sweet. I can picture Jack and his teacher and his classroom, and his yellow dog, and it is so amazing that Creech made me see and feel so much with in such a deceptively simple way. "Simple" because it is short, but "deceptive" because there is so much d...
