Shirley Sealy is noteworthy for being the first to pioneer an LDS contemporary, young adult literary market. She authored clean, uplifting, romantic novels with captivating dialogue and moral values full of integrity. The kind of books you can't put down from beginning to end! Shirley Mae Phippen (Sealy) was born on April 7, 1922 in Rupert, Idaho, the third of eight children born to Edna Laker Cook and Melvin Earl Phippen. She married her shy, blond-haired, high school boyfriend, Milton Sealy, and together they raised five children in Salt Lake City. Like the era she was born in, Shirley has always been modern and contemporary in her taste and style--a "Throughly Modern" girl! She is a woman of faith with spiritual roots, open to new ideas and modern technology. Shirley is the author of 17 books, including two very personal non fiction books and one children's book written for her grandchildren.
