I'm giving up at 233 of 370 pages. I've jumped around in the Pennyroyal Green series, loving some, meh about others, but this is the first I've had to DNF. The main characters are bland (except for their penchant for exhibitionist sex, which doesn't turn my crank), as is the plot. The heroine's sist...

I think I graded this one so harshly because I loved the one before it so much. Like No Other Lover if you are interested :)Why this book is two stars: - The Plot was boring for the first 100 pages.Seriously I don't know how I even stayed awake during those pages. The hero and heroine were rarely in...

The not-too-intricate mystery plot was a great foil for a pair of strong characters with a lot of baggage to work through. The ending felt a little rushed, but it's a minor quibble.

I really liked Chase & Rosalind and their story. There was some fun witty dialogue and some fun 12 year old boy style word play. It's a testament to how much I liked these characters and the story that even though they indulged in one of my least favorite sexual assignations we're on an illegal an...

This was a strange one. The romance is so confusing that I have to start with the secondary plot - a mystery that belonged more in an Anne Stuart. Long tried to make it lighter and amusing with certain details like the sets and the descriptions/antics of the characters, but I was too horrified to j...

Actually more like 3.5 stars - the main characters were great and their love story was beautiful. The mystery they were solving, though, was a lot less satisfying and was actually quite ridiculous. There were inconsistencies and errors in the story too - could have used some tighter editing. (Some e...

While there was some of the trademark humor that I love from Julie Anne Long books, I found overall that the story didn't really sparkle like some of her books. The mystery aspect wasn't very interesting and the love story was a bit lacking. I did enjoy some of the humorous aspects, such as Colin's ...

He deals with constant pain and is trying to figure out what to do with his life when he gets an anonymous letter from a lady, asking him for help. That letter turns out to be from Rosalind, the woman who was on...

When he is sent to London to acquire a new vicar for Pennyroyal Green, his paths cross with the woman he's never been able to forget, Mrs. Rosalind March. While she was married...
