Sleeping Beauty may be the damsel in distress, but her White Knight? Why her rather un-knightish best friend of course. And the White Knight’s White Knight? Well… none other than her reluctant mortal enemy… When Haydyn falls victim to the mysterious Sleeping Disease, the world of Phaedra is thrown into Chaos. Rogan, Haydyn’s best friend and handmaiden, is the only one who can save her. Together, with the Royal Guard and their young Captain, Wolfe Stovia, Rogan must set off across the provinces to find the Somna Plant that will wake Haydyn from her dying sleep. Beset on all sides by the chaos, Rogan tumbles into a dark world of kidnapping, prejudice, betrayal and love… a journey that will change her forever, and a journey that will change their world forever, if she does not retrieve the cure. YA Fantasy for Older Readers. REVIEWS “This was a totally epic adventure. I felt like I was on this amazing journey with the characters and when it was over I felt so sad having to say goodbye. I definitely wanted more.” Fiktshun Reviews “My favorite aspect of the book was the relationship between Rogan and Wolfe… Romance aside this book was jam packed with adventure and action, from scary kidnappers/thieves to old and new found friends, and danger in every direction.” Remarkable Reads Reviews “Slumber is a definite must read for YA fantasy lovers and if you’ve never read fantasy before, but have been thinking about giving this genre a go, Slumber would be a great place to start.” The Slowest Bookworm Reviews “If I had to pick one word for "Slumber" it would be AMAZING . A great start to this brand new YA series.” YA Indie Princess Reviews "The writing is beautiful. The story is pure creativeness. The characters are a joy to follow through the story. The heart-pumping moments are perfectly executed. And the romance is just the perfect fairy tale. This book was everything I could have hoped for, and I cannot wait to read more of Samantha's books" Shortie Says Reviews "The characters sold the show for me in Slumber. The world that the author created was unique and detailed, and I felt it enhanced the characterization and the love story. " Basia's Bookshelf Reviews

So we have the beautiful and powerful alpha male (a bit less alpha than Braden Carmichael, but obviously a version of him); we also have the sassy, curvy and beautiful heroine, who doesn't know her own appeal (rings a bell?) and who has committment phobia (yes, thi...

I have some serious issues with this book despite liking the romance so much esp. around the way sexual violence are used as plot devices.

Boy secretly loves girl but acts like he hates her. I loved Wolfe! Brooding and strong and protective.I loved Rogan...

4.0 Slumber by Samantha Young (The Fade, #1)
Originally reviewed at Witchmag's Boekenplank I really loved this book. But firs of all I want an applause for Wolfe. I have nothing but praise for him. It must have been so hard to persevere all these years. Especially after he’s finally made some progress, only to return to the starting point. B...

If you enjoyed Graceling or Poison Study, you would probably like this one too. There were only two things that bugged m...
