One stormy night in 1718, pirate captain Devlin Kane is struck by a bolt of St. Elmo's Fire, and both he and his trained falcon are rendered invisible. He and his crew set sail for Charlestown to unload their booty and contemplate how to remedy Devlin's strange condition. There they meet Eden Winters, manager of the storage warehouse.

Eden is a lonely woman who is trying to save a failing warehouse business, while deflecting the advances of a corrupt banker. Inexplicably, Eden is the only person who can see Devlin in his present state. When she touches him, he becomes visible to others. As soon as she breaks off physical contact, he reverts to being invisible.

Eden and Devlin strike a bargain. He'll help her with her business problems and aid her in fending off the banker. In turn, she'll assist him when he needs to become visible.

Devlin moves in with Eden and her ailing mother. Havoc ensues as Devlin blinks in and out of view, objects seem to float in midair, and things go “bump” in the night. Proximity soon ignites passion between them. Literally hand-in-hand they forge ahead, into adventure, passion, peril, and love's sweet splendor.

In fact it sta...
