O is the slave of Rene who then passes her on to Sir Steven, his friend. O is taught how to be obedient to these men but these men are irresponsible. I know people in the lifestyle and as the reader described the two endings for the story abandonment would not occur to the Masters. A responsible ...

What the heck...I'm reading all the dirty books right now, I might as well admit I liked this one too.

It is important to go into Story of O aware of the intense level of surrender and submission that the main character will experience; for some this is extremely hard to digest, and thus will make it a difficult read. The story was both haunting and intriguing to me—following a character so lost in h...

If I've ever hated a man more than Rene in a...

I’ve heard somewhere that in order to condemn something, it’s sometimes enough just to show it thoroughly. In “The Story of O”, I think, the author showed us that the need to be loved at any price, could lead us to let others use, debase, and hurt us. And one could be so lost that in the end, she wo...

Story of O was the Fifty Shades of Gray trend in late 90s or early 00s and its quite popular enough that I do know of the book eventhough I never try reading it before. While I can't barely read the badly written Fifty Shades, my experience with reading Story of O was more problematic due to prose a...

I dont know why everyone used to like this. Its boring... the narration is very unreliable. Marquis de Sade writing actually elicit something from me but thyis book is just plain... boring. Review much much later.
