In this classic, Sylvester the donkey finds a magic pebble that makes any wish come true. When he makes a wish that has unexpected results, he is challenged to find his true self and his way back home to his loving family. This would be perfect for a read-aloud in any grade level. After reading, I w...

This is a book that I am planning to read. This book will be a book that I would use with 2nd-4th grade. I would have the students make their own magic pebble and write a short story on their magic pebble. We would share our stories with the rest of the class.

When I finally sat down and read it I was more than a little surprised - this is a SAD story! My very first instinct was that because of this it's ...

I know this is a well beloved story but I found it rather unmemorable. I still to this day can not say what it is about other than a guy named Sylvester and a pebble that appears to be magic. Whether it actually was or not...I honestly don't remember. Really. Not a thing. The illustrations are ok......

This was great, although I was a little disturbed as a child by how long poor Sylvester is stuck as a rock, and how beyond help he is. But all's well that ends well!I still prefer [b:The Amazing Bone|242041|The Amazing Bone|William Steig|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1317792039s/242041.jpg|234486], t...
