and the alienfest continues...
Assimilation, Love, and Other Human Oddities - Lyn Gala

This really isn't going to be much of a review as I've decided at this point simply to say that I am still enjoying this series tremendously and have already jumped into book #3 which for now is the final installment of this series. Hopefully there will be more one day...in the no too distant future.

Once I get done with book #3 I will do a review that with any luck will adequately express how much I enjoyed this series and the company of my lovely friends on GR who joined in on the buddy read with me.

Assimilation, Love and Other Human Oddities
Assimilation, Love and Other Human Oddities - Lyn Gala This is not your typical M/M book, but it’s still so good.

Ondry is an alien, a Rownt. Liam is human and his palteia. This is kind of like a submissive, except a palteia is highly valued.

The Rownt are traders, and Liam is very happy helping Ondry with this on the Rownt home planet.

I absolutely loved Ondry. He would do anything for Liam and was definitely not your regular ‘Dom’. The ways of his people were weird at times, but explained so well, I was never confused.

This might seem like a BDSM book, but it’s really not. Ondry is more dominant than Liam and Liam is his, but that’s simply how a chilta/palteia relationship for the Rownt works.

Liam and Ondry don’t have ‘normal’ sex. The Rownt don’t consider sex pleasurable and don’t have the same organs as humans. And therefore they have tail sex (Ondry’s tail is very bendable). This shouldn’t be hot, but boy, it is!

I was a bit disappointed that there weren’t more physical moments between Ondry and Liam. Yes, I wanted more of the hot tail sex, but I also wanted to read more about the two of them alone. There was a bit too much plot for that to happen.

If you’ve ever considered reading an M/M alien book, this series is definitely where to start.

Assimilation, Love, and Other Human Oddities (Claimings #2) by Lyn Gala
Assimilation, Love and Other Human Oddities - Lyn Gala

Amazing world and culture. Loved all the linguistics. I would totally move to that planet :)

There are a some WTF moments in this story that made me go back a few pages looking for explanations (which I didn't find, i.e. where did the human motorcycle come from?). Other than that it was perfect. I almost liked it more than the first book. This series needs continuation :D

Alien Love
Assimilation, Love and Other Human Oddities - Lyn Gala

This is number two in the series. I don't want to say much because its so yummy. The world building is right on point and so is the continuing development of Liam and Ondry's relationship. Their lives are complicated by a new language specialist on their planet.
I know there will be a third in the series. Yea!

Assimilation, Love, and Other Human Oddities (Lyn Gala)
Assimilation, Love and Other Human Oddities - Lyn Gala

3.75 stars rounded up

I am not going to pretend that I understood anything related to the customs and cultures of Rownt society, even after I finished this book. Seriously, my head was spinning, I couldn't grasp the idea of whole trade, and ranks, and war things ... Shows how I am more comfortable to have both my feet (and my brain) on the ground. Totally wouldn't survive in other planet *LOL*.

But despite all that, I thought Lyn Gala showed a very well-built alien world, even if it left me confused. It was pretty solid as a story. I also loved Ondry and Liam as characters and it was great to read Ondry's perspective this time around. Ondry clearly cherished his palteia and whenever it was a scene that was only the two of them, my heart just sighed in contentment. I have such a soft spot for established couple.

And, well, what can I say, the tail-sex was *coughHOTcough*.
