Fangirl by Rowell, Rainbow (2014) Paperback - Rainbow Rowell

The author Rainbow Rowell often writes about people who talk a lot, people who feel like they're screwing up, and people who fall in love. This is especially true in her book, Fangirl. The main character Cath falls in love with a boy named Levi. The whole time they are falling in love, she feels like she is messing stuff up with him. She is very sceptical that he likes her or that anyone likes her. Rainbow Rowell's biography said that as a teen she was very cynical about love and romance. This is reflected in most of her books since the characters are sceptical about love but end up falling in love anyway. Also in this book Cath reads/writes fanfiction. Rainbow Rowell said that she also reads/writes fanfiction. The author and Cath have many similarities.

"Levi's smile faded, and he sat back slowly" page 222
Fangirl by Rowell, Rainbow (2014) Paperback - Rainbow Rowell

I chose this quote because it showed Levi's feelings at that moment in the story. Levi is sorry that he didn't realize that he hurt Cath's feelings at first. He didn't know that Cath came to the party and saw what he was doing that upset her the most. This part of the book adds a lot of light suspense that makes you wonder what will happen next and shows Levi's feelings for Cath.

quote 2018-04-19 13:09
“I don’t trust anybody. Not anybody. And the more that I care about someone, the more sure I am they’re going to get tired of me and take off.”
― Rainbow Rowell, Fangirl
Fangirl by Rowell, Rainbow (2014) Paperback - Rainbow Rowell

This quote by the character Cath really represents her personality and the authors style. Cath isn't very confident and she has trust issues. Her mom left her when she was young and she hasn't recovered since. This affects Caths writing ability and relationships. The author, Rainbow Rowell, writes like this in a lot of her books. She talks about real issues that a lot of young people deal with. She writes about doubts, confidence, and family problems. This quote is very representative of Cath and the author.

I chose this broken heart photo to describe my book for multiple reasons. After an incident with Abel, Cath is very upset and heart broken. Also her relationship with Wren makes her feel terrible since Wren is her sister.

"Cath took a slow breath. She felt lightheaded and strained, like something too big was hatching inside her ribs."

Introduction
Fangirl by Rowell, Rainbow (2014) Paperback - Rainbow Rowell

My name is Gracie and I enjoy reading mystery and suspenseful books though sometimes I like to step outside my comfort zone. I typically get ideas of what to read from friends so I can get a good idea of what I like and dislike reading. Some of my favorite authors include Lois Lowery, Sharon Creech, and Nicola Yoon.

The book I am currently reading is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It is my first book that I am reading from this author and so far I like their writing style. The book is about a girl named Cath who has just went to collage with her twin sister Wren who has found many other friends and never has time for Cath. Her roommate Reagan never talks to her and they know nothing about each other. Cath enjoys fan fiction and is the author of a popular book series. Though she struggles trying to fit in and meet new friends at collage. One thing I like about the book is all of the different personalities and people inside the story line. Along with this, it makes the book way more interesting to read and as if you are there, with Cath, and helping her along the way. I would definitely recommend this book to other people especially in middle to high school who like a sort of romance along with a bit of comedy.

Overall I really enjoy this book and I can't wait to keep reading it!
