2.7 Out Of 5 STARS for White Bodies by Jane Robins
White Bodies: An Addictive Psychological Thriller - Jane Robins

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ABOUT THE BOOK~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This chilling psychological suspense novel--think Strangers on a Train for the modern age--explores the dark side of love and the unbreakable ties that bind two sisters together.

Felix and Tilda seem like the perfect couple: young and in love, a financier, and a beautiful up-and-coming starlet. But behind their flawless facade, not everything is as it seems.

Callie, Tilda's unassuming twin, has watched her sister visibly shrink under Felix's domineering love. She has looked on silently as Tilda stopped working, nearly stopped eating, and turned into a neat freak, with mugs wrapped in Saran Wrap and suspicious syringes hidden in the bathroom trash. She knows about Felix's uncontrollable rages and has seen the bruises on the white skin of her sister's arms.

Worried about the psychological hold that Felix seems to have over Tilda, Callie joins an Internet support group for victims of abuse and their friends. However, things spiral out of control and she starts to doubt her own judgment when one of her new acquaintances is killed by an abusive man. And then suddenly Felix dies--or was he murdered?

A page-turning work of suspense that announces a stunning new voice in fiction, White Bodies will change the way you think about obsession, love, and the violence we inflict on one another--and ourselves.

~MY QUICKIE REVIEW~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Something about White Bodies just rubbed me the wrong way, maybe it's the narrator's voice/accent that got to me or the strangely weird thing that the MC did with her sister's hair, teeth, and other personal items (it's freakishly weird) or most likely it was both of those.  I just couldn't care about these characters or what befell them.  That twist at the end, was deviously clever, though.  It was the knowledge that there was going to be a serious twist at the end that kept me listening because I really wanted to DNF this.
2.5 Out Of 5 STARS for Good Me, Bad Me by Ali Land
Good Me Bad Me - Ali Land
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~ABOUT THE BOOK~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Good Me Bad Me is dark, compelling, voice-driven psychological suspense by debut author Ali Land.
How far does the apple really fall from the tree?
Milly's mother is a serial killer. Though Milly loves her mother, the only way to make her stop is to turn her into the police. Milly is given a fresh start: a new identity, a home with an affluent foster family, and a spot at an exclusive private school.
But Milly has secrets, and life at her new home becomes complicated. As her mother's trial looms, with Milly as the star witness, Milly starts to wonder how much of her is nature, how much of her is nurture, and whether she is doomed to turn out like her mother after all.
When tensions rise and Milly feels trapped by her shiny new life, she has to decide: Will she be good? Or is she bad? She is, after all, her mother's daughter.
~MY QUICKIE REVIEW~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lately, I've been reading genres of books that are out of my comfort zone.  This may have been too far out, though. Because ultimately, I was disturbed and saddened by this story, and I wish I'd never listened to this one at all.

If you like to be inside the head of someone who has been abused mentally and psychically and see all their dark twistiness that comes from that, then the inside of Annie/Millie's head might be a welcome place for you.  It's just not for me, though.

⇝My Thoughts⇜

This series has ultimately disappointed me…I've tried to figure out if I regret reading it at all, and to tell the truth…I'm just not sure…a part of me is, though.  I have loved the narration on this series by Heather Lind, but even that got on my nerves towards the end of this book.  Maybe, that's Saba's fault too.

I'm just not happy with the decisions that Saba, Jack and Tommo have been making.  I was also seriously disappointed in the heart stone, (really, it is sort of a character) how could it light up for both of them?  I didn't like that at all.  After the debacle that was Rebel Heart, where everyone made some rash decisions, it was clear that Raging Heart had to have something epic happen to put it back on the 'loving this' train.  Clearly, that didn't happen for me.

⇝Sex Factor⇜ Yes, there is sex but not explicit.  It's not a clean read, for sure.

This series suffers from too much sex…sex scenes should not be tedious…should they?

Will I read more from this author?  I think I might be done with this author, at least for now.  Maybe, this isn’t my kind of story.

⇝My Thoughts⇜

I’ve said on my review for Hottest Mess, this should have been only one book or two at the most with a lot less sex.  I feel that it’s perfectly okay to leave the reader with the impression that they had sex and not inundate a story with scene after scene of explicit sex.  I would say they amount to at least 75% of the series as a whole.  One word. Overkill.  I did a lot of skimming.

Otherwise the story that we did get was a fairly exciting one.  It was just a little difficult to get to.  Everything involving Dallas and Jane’s kidnapping, was intriguing and kept me thinking…I had a feeling who it was since the second book…and I was right.

⇝Sex Factor⇜ If you like your books full of hot steamy sex and very little actual story, then this is your series.
