Crowdsourced! lists

I decided that it would actually be easier to start over with a new list now that we've selected the 1001 books!

I'm breaking it into 2 lists since they are pretty unwieldy! List 1 will be author last names A through K; list 2 will be author last name L through Z.

Update:

The first list is done (authors A-K) and it can be found here!

The second list is created (authors L-Z) and it can be found here!

Thanks!

Crowdsourced: State of the List -- WE DID IT!!!

UPDATE 2

We did it!!!

Here's the list:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qYl32e0L3R3X_82XldWaCOt2naBFtvoJsaQY8zzUU3E/edit#gid=0

Thanks to the final submissions by Jennifer, Ani and Lora, we're up to 1001 exactly!  How cool is that??

_______________________________________________

UPDATE 1

Including all submissions up to right now, we have room for another 27 books.

Romance and horror preferred.

(Note: the spreadsheet "technically" goes as far as line 977, but the first 3 lines are notes and headers, so they don't count.  The first book is listed in line 4.)

_______________________________________________

Guys, we totally rock -- once I'll have added today's most recent submissions, we'll be in spitting distance of our 1001 goal!

So I'm going to ask for a moratorium on submissions, with two exceptions:

1) We need more romance novels (and also a bit more horror); the list is currently lopsided in favor of other genres.  Calling all readers of these genres -- romance and horror -- to top up their submissions!

2) Hol and A Voracious Reader have indicated their interest in submitting suggestions; if possible, I'd want to leave some space for them.

Thank you all!

Romance Essentials

I decided against going with "Romance Addendum to the Addendum to the Addendum of My List of Essentials" as a title, because I thought that would have been a bit too on the nose. ;)

From my previous three lists, I included 8 romances. I'm now listing 10 more to heed the call for more romances on the Crowdsourced list.

MR & TA, depending on what others list, there's no need to include all of these if it looks like there's going to be too many.

These are not the classics of the genre, just personal favorites of mine.

Winterblaze - Kristen Callihan Winterblaze by Kristen Callihan

The Suffragette Scandal - Courtney Milan The Suffragette Scandal by Courtney Milan

The Proposal - Mary Balogh The Proposal by Mary Balogh

The Arrangement - Mary Balogh The Arrangement by Mary Balogh

Slightly Shady - Amanda Quick Slightly Shady by Amanda Quick (1st in a trilogy featuring the same main couple)

Tis the Season to Be Sinful - Adrienne Basso Tis the Season to Be Sinful by Adrienne Basso

Stars of Fortune: Book One of the Guardians Trilogy - Nora Roberts Stars of Fortune by Nora Roberts

'Til Death Do Us Part - Amanda Quick Til Death Do Us Part by Amanda Quick

Secret Sisters - Jayne Ann Krentz Secret Sisters by Jayne Ann Krentz

Chasing Fire - Nora Roberts Chasing Fire by Nora Roberts

Light on romance
Lord of Scoundrels - Loretta Chase
Outlander - Diana Gabaldon
The Pride of Lions - Marsha Canham

Linda Hilton has pointed out, and I agree, that the crowdsourced list is light on romance. I am prevailing on our romance readers - Linda, Whiskey & OB - to give us a few more romances for the list.

Off the top of my own head, I would definitely suggest:

Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

Pride of Lions by Marsha Canham

Can you guys help us out? Maybe another 20?
