A Highland Wolf Christmas - Terry Spear

An enjoyable holiday paranormal romance. Plenty of exciting action among these were-wolf packs. I liked personalities of both main characters but sometimes there was too much thinking about the rebound dilemma. Party planner Callie is running from her ex-fiance when Guthrie's pack comes to her rescue.

A Wolf-Shifter Scottish Highlander in a Kilt? Oh Yeah...
A Highland Wolf Christmas - Terry Spear

‘Guthrie leaned down a little and said with a rough and interested voice for Calla’s ears only, “Does this mean what I think it does?”
She smiled wickedly up at him. “That…we’re courting? Aye.”

What’s better than a romance novel about a hunky Scottish Highlander? A romance novel about a *wolf-shifter* Scottish Highlander and his sexy brethren. Be still my beating heart…

Okay. So I know I’m not alone in finding guys in kilts pretty darn sexy. Not that I’ve ever Googled the subject or anything. *grins* But add in some paranormal to the mix and I am so there.

Parnormal Romance – Werewolves

by Terry Spear

Financial advisor Guthrie MacNeill isn’t a complete Scrooge—he just hates the enormous cost associated with the Christmas holiday season. Needless to say, when his pack hires a party planner to decorate the castle, he’s at his wit’s end. Until Calla Stewart arrives on the scene with her mistletoe in hand.

Calla has never had a client as difficult as Guthrie, but she’s determined to give the pack a Christmas season they will never forget—no matter how much it costs. But when her ex-fiancé begins stalking her and threatening her safety, Guthrie decides to loosen his grip on the purse strings and let out his inner Highland warrior wolf to protect her.

~ 4.5 A Highland Wolf Christmas Stars ~

Most of you should know by now I am a FAN of Ms. Spear. Her work is always a go to read for me. What I like most in her shifter books is that each story is unique. I never feel like I am re-reading the same thing over and over. It’s always fresh wither we are meeting old friends or new. Secondly I love that each character has their own personalities, quirky traits and fun loving family and friends. Third her writing flows effectively pulling the reader into the world, characters, and plot. And fourth each book can be read as a standalone. I always look forward to more of Ms. Spear shifter books!

I was so excited to finally get Gutherie MacNeill’s story. He was introduced in Heart of the Highland Wolf along with all his brothers. I loved how he is so uptight and a stickler for finances that he will consume himself in work. I always wanted to find out what women would finally break him of his habit and pull him out of the work-a-holic shell.

Calla is introduced in A Highland Werewolf Wedding where we see her as Cearnach MacNeill’s friend. She runs a party planning business, so she is in the business of spending money which is the complete opposite of Gutherie. Calla is a strong character with a good head on her and great friends that help her find the mate she has been looking for.

Even if you have not read any of the other books you will not be missing out. The author does a fantastic job of filling you in on each character and relationships. I like the author’s sense of humor and the Scotland sense are breath taking. The romance building is sweet and I loved their first kiss. It was a heartfelt moment. We have some suspense in that Calla is being stalked, though that storyline was light and at times felt added just to push the story along.

If your new to paranormal romance, love alpha wolves, or a nice light read; then I recommend giving this book or any of Ms. Spear work’s a try.

A Highland Wolf Christmas
A Highland Wolf Christmas - Terry Spear I received a digital copy in exchange for an honest review from Netgalley and Sourcebooks.

I'm glad that I got to read A Highland Wolf Christmas since it has been awhile since I've read Terry's work. Fifteen books in and she still packs in a lot of detail, a lot of romance and complicated twists to keep her readers entertained.
There were a few things I would have liked to have seen expanded on or cut out but I liked that despite it being a Christmas story we still get a healthy dose of drama following our characters who are trying to find their way through the difficult process of matching and mating. Terry is a great writer that brings her wolves to life and gives her readers great hero's to fall in love with and heroines to envy.

A Highland Wolf Christmas
A Highland Wolf Christmas - Terry Spear I received a ARC in return for a honest review.

Calla is a event and wedding planner, and has a job with Guthrie MacNeil, in making their Christmas celebration the best one yet. Calla has always felt a attraction to Guthrie, and even though she has recently left her fiancee, she can't resist Guthrie and the attraction that has always been there. Guthrie is still suffering from a relationship gone bad, even though he cares for Calla, the last thing he wants to risk is falling in love with her and wanting her for his mate than have to lose her again. But as events progress closer to Christmas, Calla's Fiancee begins stalking her and making threats, and the tight control that Guthrie has on himself becomes harder to control when he realizes that his mate's life is being threatened and will do everything in his will power to protect her.

A Highland Wolf Christmas is the fifteenth of the series and if you are looking for a sizzling yet sweet holiday story with some sexy highlanders who love sword fighting, enticing brogues and wearing kilts everywhere you go, this story is for you. I think I definitely wouldn't mind re reading this in a couple more months. It had everything you look for for a fun paranormal holiday romance that will warm you up on a cold winter's night. I really loved having Calla and Guthrie being together, especially in one of the previous books we see more background on the breakup of Calla's engagement, and seeing the attraction between Calla and Guthrie, and then to have this story pick up, and focus on their relationship that centers around the holiday season.

Guthrie is the financial whiz of the clan, he has been the one to save the clan from financial crisis, and is nit picky about money. Guthrie is the type of man, to shield himself from more hurt. In the beginning he is hesitant to begin anything with Calla, seeing history repeat himself, and he will end up hurt once again. Guthrie is the type to put his heart and soul into a relationship. Calla is dedicated to her work and career, but she also makes time for family. Calla is passionate and goes after what she wants. She is a she wolf, and a fighter, and when she sees Guthrie in her sights, she sees the type of man he is underneath his brooding exterior. This was such a delightful pair, there was such a strong connection that you see from the beginning, and you just want to cheer for them for the whole story. There was such a feeling of chemistry that emerges within every page that jumps out at you and clings to the reader and keeps you ever engaged.

Overall a winner of a paranormal romance!! I have adored what Terry Spear has done with this series, especially the past few books in dealing with sexy highlander that are wolf shifters....I mean seriously, can it get any better than that? This tale is packed with action packed scenes, rich filled characters, stunning detail, and a fun romp of a romance that is rewarding and a page turner to remember!! INCREDIBLY WELL DONE!!
