Animal Attraction
Animal Attraction - Anna David The tale of two kitties (and a journey of recovery)

As a cat-lover, a volunteer photographer at a cat rescue, and a self-confessed cat-lady (with two cats AND a dog, is a neat-freak, has a partner and a child), I felt I just HAD to read this Kindle Single.
This short biographical tale follows Anna from her beginnings with her abusive father (which she convinced herself were normal), through her tumultuous and confusing years of young adulthood as a semi-functioning addict, and on to her new sober life with the two cats that went through some of the worst of it with her.
I know really well that my pets have been through all kinds of ups and down with me and I could NOT have done it without them. From a personal standpoint, I kept hoping Anna would be more emotional and talk more about this, but I know that this point comes across to the reader. There's also a look at how the author's behavior affected the cats, and how they reflected the stressors in her life. Addiction and mental illness don't allow many people to see how their behavior affects people around them, never mind their pets. But then Anna's cats eventually act as anchors and help see her through to a place of stability and she realizes that their unconditional love and presence has meant more than she'd cared to notice before.
There's a lot in this that is familiar to me, both in perspective and story, but there aren't enough pages to deal with all the topics in depth. I was just thrilled to see the personal journey that Anna went on, and that she found sobriety, self-acceptance, a little bit of 'happy', and that Toby and Lilly were there through it all.
PS. Cats rule.

Animal Attraction (Hot in Hollywood) by Katee Robert
Animal Attraction (Hot in Hollywood Book 2) - Katee Robert

The Hot in Hollywood series exposes a lighter side to author Katee Robert.  Never has her sense of comedic timing been more evident than Animal Attraction, book 2 of this hilarious serious.  Desperation and good intentions collide to make for an attraction that is as magnetic as it is funny.  Who knew a dog could play matchmaker for two unsuspecting souls.  Brooklyn and Levi are cinematic gold in this audacious romance.

Take me
Animal Attraction - Heidi Betts,Lori Foster,Jules Bennett,Maisey Yates

This book is an anthology that includes Buckhorn Brothers series book #5.5.  This is a story that can be read alone.  For complete understanding of the series, I recommend reading it in order.  For purposes of this review, we will concentrate on this story, Buckhorn Ever After.

Nadine has known Shohn all her life.  They grew up together.  To suddenly have his interest is quite exciting.  She does not want, however, to just be a notch on a bedpost for him.  Yet the attraction is still there.

Shohn has just realized all that Nadine brings to his life.  She is good friends with his cousin, who he is also close to.  She is helpful, and a great community member as well.  Now, he is interested in her as a woman.  Can he convince her to take him seriously?

This was an amazing book.  I loved all the stories inside.  This story in particular, was so breathtaking.  I enjoyed reading about them falling for one another.  The laughter, the tears, and that was just me while reading.  Such great banter.  Love this series so much.  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

DEAR JANE by Marissa Clarke
Dear Jane (Animal Attraction #1) - Marissa Clarke
Cute story. Jane is a mistake waiting to happen when it comes to dating. Eric is a fellow attorney who works at her family's law firm. She has him set her up for dates then debriefs with him. She is funny as she tells her stories. Both are attracted to the other but because of the non-fraternization clause in their contracts they cannot act upon the attraction. Chaos ensues as Jane continues her dates.

They are a cute couple. Jane's dream job is not the law nor is it beyond her reach. Her family should have supported her youthful dreams. Jane's dating stories are funny. The ending was different. I am surprised that Eric did not lose out on Jane.

I look forward to more in this series.
