A Zombie Christmas by Anthony Renfro @atothewr
A Zombie Christmas 2: The Mike Beem Chro... A Zombie Christmas 2: The Mike Beem Chronicles - Anthony Renfro

I am doing Christmas in July this year, so I am sharing this wonderful Zombie short story.

You can see my review for Book I here.

I have read a lot of Anthony Renfro’s horror shorts and highly recommend them.

A Zombie Christmas 2

Amazon  /  Goodreads

MY REVIEW

It’s a year later and the zombie apocalypse is worse than ever. Will it never end? Do the zombies die out on their own, slowly disintegrating into dust?

Mike Beem is back and he’s shooting, stabbing, decapitating the broken and decomposing zombies to save Donnie and his family. He puts everything on the line to add more survivors to his ‘family’.

The star on top of Mike’s Christmas tree is like a beacon of hope to those lost, seeking shelter from the zombies.

It is Christmas Eve, and come hell or high water, there will be a Christmas.

Mike’s Angels, Double and Trouble, have his back.

Horror, suspense, love and hope abound in this gruesome yet heartwarming story in the brutal world of the zombie apocalypse.

GOODREADS BLURB:  A boy lost. A family desperate. It’s Christmas in a Zombie Apocalypse and Mike Beem is once again aiming for another Holiday miracle. His goal this year isn’t toys for the kids in the neighborhood. His goal this time is trying to save one small life so another family doesn’t have to suffer the way he suffered. Can Mike save Christmas once again?

It Sleeps at Dawn by Anthony Renfro
It Sleeps at Dawn - Anthony Renfro It Sleeps at Dawn - Anthony Renfro

It Sleeps at Dawn by Anthony Renfro is a short horror story. It has homonyms and typos so I gave it four stars.

An unnamed woman awoke not knowing where she was. Then discovered stained glass windows with frightening scenes of vampires. She ran to a door and struggled to open it.

Outside she met a man she'd seen the night before but did not go home with him. She was sure of that. "He smiled at her, an evil dark eat you alive from head to toe smile, which revealed large white fangs..."

There was two Bonus Short Stories: The Living Sand which I had read and reviewed before. Also Fear of the Scarecrow.

What are you afraid of? – Fear of the Scarecrow by Anthony Renfro @atothewr
Fear of the Scarecrow - Anthony Renfro

Anthony Renfro writes some fantastic horror short stories and Fear of the Scarecrow is up there at the top.

Check out this awesome cover. Looks harmless, doesn’t it?

BUT…

I love the cover and as I began reading…OMG…this is so fabulous. Not what I expected. I am horrified and delighted and I don’t believe I will ever look at scarecrows and pumpkins in the same light ever again.

Fear of the Scarecrow was inspired by his Haiku: Fear of the Scarecrow:

In a field you hang

Upon this wood post you wait

for the night’s darkness

And it does arrive in a big way!

I picked this up as an Amazon freebie.

GOODREADS BLURBThis short story is about a desperate man hungry for revenge seeking justice. Sometimes justice comes with a price.

Sandy and The Stranger by Anthony Renfro
Sandy and The Stranger - Anthony Renfro

Sandy and The Stranger by Anthony Renfro is a compelling short story. A Nova and a Mustang are drag racing on a moonlit night. Sandy won over Larry, who was unwilling to give a sportsman-like handshake.

Everyone congratulated him and told him he couldn't be beat. Than a James Dean look alike spoke up. He had a 1949 black Mercury. The stranger spooked him. I gave it four stars.

There are two bonus stories: The Man from the Road was a short creepy horror story. Killer Treads was a scary horror story.

I received a complimentary kindle copy from the author. That did not change my opinion for this review.

The Living Sand by Anthony Renfro
The Living Sand - Anthony Renfro

The Living Sand by Anthony Renfro is a frightening short story. I gave it four stars.

A grandfather sat in a rocker on his wooden porch telling his grandsons a story about two twelve year old boys, Seth & Junior who discovered a hidden beach with a cave that had a wall with a skull & crossbones symbol on it that looked like it was bleeding or freshly painted. It gave a serious warning & a sinister laugh.

They ran. Later Junior taunted Seth about being a 'frady cat' to get him to go back to the cave again. They then learned about the evil deadly secrets that lie within its soft white grains of sand.

It has two bonus short stories: Joyride about a Chevy Chevelle & A Haunted House Tale. Both were entertaining.

I received a complimentary copy from the author. That did not change my opinion for this review.
