The Beauty of Love (American Wilderness Series Romance Book 6) - Dorothy Wiley

This is book six and the first that I have read. These are two people who share the pain of loss but have a soul mate in each other. Dora was only married a very short period of time and is now widowed. Edward lost his wife and children to illness and feels there is no happiness left for him. Through misadventures, theirs and Edward's sibling's, they find the strength to grab the happiness before them. I recommend this book and I look forward to reading the previous stories.

Pick up Beauty and her Beastly Love today, you won't be disappointed.
Beauty and Her Beastly Love (Passion-Filled Fairy Tales Book 2) - Rosetta Bloom

Beauty and her Beastly Love takes the reader on an erotic retelling of the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast. Much of the original story line is there, but it has been spruced up for the adult readers and contains some rather interesting intimate scenes.

Slight variations from the original include things like the erotic, leather bound books that make their way to Beauty and the lack of the amusing Cogsworth, Lumiere, and Mrs Potts. Gaston's character was well and truly present, although he had a different name and Beast and Beauty play their parts very well too.

At times I did wonder at Beauty's ability to have sex with Beast, even though he was part man, perhaps this too was intentional, the beastly nature to the sexual scenes adding a touch of the taboo if you think about it. Just something to keep you thinking about it :)

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing where Rosetta took the adult version of Beauty and the Beast. I feel that most readers will enjoy this story, be they lovers of the original or not, there's something for everyone in there.

I noticed no typos or formatting issues (always a plus!) and really the only slightly negative I'd have to say is that the cover is a bit bland considering the story. I'd have liked something a bit sexier, but if this is the most negative thing I have to say about the book, well Rosetta should be stoked :D

Pick up Beauty and her Beastly Love today, you won't be disappointed.

Beauty from Love - Georgia Cates

Let me start by saying that I did enjoy Beauty from Love. It started off right where the last book ended, right after Laurelyn and Jack Henry's wedding. One thing this series has never been short of is passion. And folks, you get it in spades here. While I did enjoy all the steamy scenes, I also would have liked to see a little more of a story line as well. At the same time, I did understand that they were newlyweds and sooooo in love, and I did enjoy seeing what their HEA looked like.

I have been completely enamored by Laurelyn and Jack Henry's story since book one. I found them both to be lovable and interesting characters. In this installment in particular I feel like Jack Henry really shined. He was for the most part the ideal husband, caring, thoughtful, loving, sweet and supportive.

One of the issues the happy couple dealt with were some of Laurelyn's insecurities/jealousy. I really liked that, I thought it was very real, I couldn't imagine not having those issues come up after the way they got together, and his sorted past.

Ok, even though I really did like seeing the happy couple's happily ever after, I also had some reservations about if this final book really brought anything extra to the series. Part of me thinks that there could have just been an extra chapter or two added to the last book with a flash of the future, and that would have been enough for me. I felt like dealing with more unstable women from his past was kind of been there done that. And it really makes you question how many crazy chicks this guy has been with?! Was that a prerequisite to being in Jack Henry's league of liaisons?

So all together, I did like seeing more of Laurelyn and Jack Henry, but I don't think the story was any where near as captivating as it was in the first two books. I rated the previous two books both 4.5 stars, and sang their praises. This last one, I liked it, but it was not on that same level for me.

Power & Beauty: A Love Story of Life on the Streets - Tip "T.I." Harris,David Ritz Power & Beauty, an urban love story written by rapper T.I. and "assisted" by David Ritz, is a plodding tale that seemed like it took me forever to get through. It follows 16 year olds who grew up together as siblings after Power's mother, Charlotte, took in Beauty when her mother dies. When Charlotte is killed in a tragic accident, the pair is left to fend for themselves -- and finally act on their long-standing attraction. After that one passionate night, they vow to never speak of it again. They have more important things to worry about anyway, like where to live.

Fortunately, their mother's boss and friend, a hustler named Slim, invites them live with him, where Power relishes the freedom and abundant women. Beauty, on the other hand doesn't trust Slim, and runs as far as she can, leaving Power behind.

For some reason, Power admires the shady man. Slim takes him under his wing and sends him on journeys to become educated in the world of hard knocks. This is the part that is somewhat interesting but drags...

Told in two parts -- mostly in first person by Power, third-person featuring Beauty -- the story could be cut about 50 to 60 pages. I will say I think T.I. tried to write this with gusto (makes me wonder how much Ritz contributed), but I was unsatisfactorily left wondering at the end what was going to happen next, with the conclusion being so abrupt.

It's, of course, headed for a sequel. I can't see myself reading it, though.
