Wild Ride - Jennifer Crusie, Bob Mayer
Wild Ride - Jennifer Crusie,Bob Mayer

Next time I decide to read this it will probably be for Halloween bingo, because this hits a lot of squares, including Halloween itself and carnivals.

It's fall in small-town Ohio, and Mab is almost finished restoring the old rides and statues in a small amusement park that's being refurbished. Mab unwittingly sets free a demon, and then all Hell is breaking loose. There's a little murder, a lot of mayhem, sex, beer, demon-possessed teddy bears, and a nice array of weapons.

Crusie and Mayer work so well together: it's witty and clever and exciting and sweet, and flows smoothly through all of its moods without a false note.

In a perfect world, Crusie and Mayer would write more of this kind of thing, and they would all be optioned for Netflix. In a pretty good world, other writers would mine the same vein. Who doesn't want more banter and brawling with a side of hellmouth?

Blog Tour - Everything Girl
<!--more-->

Welcome to my stop on the Everything Girl blog tour!

Everything Girl
by Emily Mayer
Genre: Adult Romance
Release date: May 11th 2019

Summary:

Evelyn Mercer has always had a plan. She lives and breathes the plan. The plan and coffee.
Go to law school. Check.
Make Law Review. Check.
Get competitive internship. Check.
Land dream job. Double Check.

That dream job? Yeah, it’s a nightmare, and Evelyn is miserable with a capital M. When she reaches her misery threshold, Evelyn does the unthinkable and deviates from her plan.

Her unexpected new job takes her to Pinehaven Ranch in the middle of nowhere Montana where Evelyn is faced with her biggest obstacle yet. No coffee shops within a 30-mile radius and her new boss’ brother, former rodeo champion Jack Danvers. The three words that best describe Jack are stink, stank, stunning. He is perfection and he inexplicably seems to hate her on sight. But if there is one thing life has taught her, it’s that she still has a lot to learn and Montana is full of surprises.

Buy it on Amazon!

Excerpt:

"A thought struck me suddenly, like a bolt of lightning appearing without warning. I wanted that. All my planning, all my dreaming—it had been about accomplishing something. It had been about building a career for myself that I could be proud of, one that checked off everything on my list. There was no room for anything or anyone else. It was hollow and empty and really sad, and it made me feel all of those things. This—being in the car with friends; Margot singing in the front seat, Gabe laughing every time she messed up the words; even being tucked close to Jack—this made me feel something so good. This was worth something."

Books From The Backlog – Gem Stone by Dale Mayer @DaleMayer
Gem Stone: A Gemma Stone Mystery - Dale Mayer

Books from the Backlog is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your bookshelf unread.  If you are anything like me, you might be surprised by some of the unread books hiding in your stacks.

If you would like to join in, swing by Carole’s Random Life in Books.

I can’t remember how I got Gem Stone by Dale Mayer, but it was published October 12, 2012, and, after reading it, I wonder why I waited so long to read it.

MY REVIEW

Uh Oh. Gemma Stone is in the wrong place at the wrong time and taking photos, no less. From juvie to a halfway home…

But…they messed with the wrong kids when they messed with Gem and her friends.

I love this motley group and their loyalty to each other. One for all and all for one. These kids took me o n one wild ride right to the very end.

Love the environmental angle slipped in and the photography.

The suspense is different from what I expected, in an awesome way.

The writing riveting and captivated me beginning to end.

The characters are fabulous and I love how the ‘family’ came together.

Touchy subject…foster children.

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Gem Stone by Dale Mayer.

Animated Animals. Pictures, Images and Photos5 Stars

Fortnite
100% Unofficial Fortnite Pro Guide - Becker&Mayer! Books

I have read many users guide's in my time, but this one was special to me - and I will tell you why.  This guide is for Fortnite, an online game every one is playing, including myself.  I play with my kids when I have the time and this book is a big help!

There are suggestions in here that help you play the game and be able to respond faster.  It has play ideas for multiple platforms since the game can be played across so many.  I really loved the full color and "learn to be a pro" attitude.

Like any other player, I want to be the best at what I do, when I do it.  I love being able to see the "Epic" changes that every season on Fortnite seems to bring.  I also like being able to collect the "Skins" that make me as a player - look even more intimidating.  Since that is the fun of the game.

This guide was a great help full of many good ideas and suggestions.  I recommend you read it before your next Battle Royale.  I give this book a 5/5 Kitty's Book Spot!
