You are doing a happy dance because both of your latest holds at the library have arrived, wayyyyy ahead of time! Then you realize how bogged down with great books you already are. What a problem to have, right?
There's really not much I can add to the boatload of reviews of this volume. So I'm just going to say that this was my favorite volume so far and that I'm heartbroken. HEARTBROKEN!
As irreverent as PREACHER was, but with more humor, (and humor that appeals to a wider variety of people, in my opinion), SAGA may just turn out to be my favorite graphic novel series of all time. (SANDMAN will be hard to beat, but it's going to be damn close!)
If you enjoy comics & graphic novels, and you're not reading SAGA, you're missing out. Period.
I've been buying this digitally; I wait a month - or longer - and just get them on sale, or at least half off. I've had dollars off, etc, so bought them earlier, but that's how it's been going in general. That being said, that doesn't mean I love this any less: I just love a lot of comics, and if I wait sometimes, I can get them for less. I own so much of Saga digitally, that it doesn't seem worth it to me to switch formats. I prefer being able to access this anywhere, to be honest.
(Transformers is an exception: I will buy that in paper on the day it comes out, and then buy the digital comics on sale.)
Love, love, love this. Everything is just shocking in the best of ways, as the characters grow and develop, and still don't learn and do bonehead things anyway. I just love this series so much.
I'm still in it for Prince Robot IV to be honest. Sir Robot just doesn't do it for me - so I insist on calling him Prince Robot IV.
We finally have a family reunion, even if it's not complete. But things are getting crazier with every chapter!
The Will is in a constant state of 'high' and is seeing The Stalk. He's really in a bad way. Prince Robot IV is in an unlikely alliance with Marko and Alanna. I don't even know what to say about this except that the plot continues to thicken! Just when you think it can't get crazier or more messed up, it does! But every now and then good things happen. Hazel is back where she belongs, but now they've got more grudging allies. And there are more people mixed up in the mystery that his Hazel's existence than a little. I literally cannot even guess what's going to happen next!
The story is keeping me very interested and the artwork is fantastic. I am so glad I immersed myself in this series.
