COYER Winter 2019 Sign Up Post
With Every Letter - Sarah Sundin

COYER Winter2019SignUp

This is my official sign up post for COYER Winter 2019-2020. I am just doing the regular COYER, not the "With Friends" twist as my taste in reading doesn't really gel with the other participants and I avoid ARCs. So I will be reading books I owned that were/are priced at $2 or less for e-books/$5 for audiobooks.

I will participate in just one read-a-thon: FFS, I Suffer from FOMO runs from December 15th-28th and COYER rules are exempt from the read-a-thon. I also plan to do the IG Challenge in February....and we will see how that goes, lol. I really like that there is only one Twitter party and it is in the early afternoon (hey, I'm old and I will be coming off planning, executing, and hosting two elementary-school age birthday parties, so leave me be in my oldness, LOL).

As for my book recommendation, I chose With Every Letter (Wings of the Nightingale #1) by Sarah Sundin. As for a TBR for COYER, I am holding off until after 24 Festive Tasks is done before deciding whether to make a TBR for COYER or wing it.

Here's to whittling down my e-book shelves!

June 2019 TBR
Very Strange Bedfellows: The Short and Unhappy Marriage of Richard Nixon & Spiro Agnew - Jules Witcover
Maid to Match - Deeanne Gist
A Talent for Trouble - Jen Turano
All I Am (A Farmers' Market Story) - Nicole Helm
A Gentleman For All Seasons - Shana Galen,Vanessa Kelly,Kate Noble,Theresa Romain

My list is short because most of my reading will be for BL-opoly. Summer COYER has no restrictions unless it is reading for the read-a-thons or the treasure hunt. I will be doing one COYER read-a-thon this month as well as setting aside time to read a book off the Nixon list I have.

Nixon Reading List pick this month is Very Strange Bedfellows: The Short and Unhappy Marriage of Richard Nixon and Spiro Agnew by Jules Witcover.

Deserted Island Read-a-thon (June 9-22, 2019) list: Maid to Match by Deeanne Gist, A Talent for Trouble (Ladies of Distinction #3) by Jen Turano, All I Am (Farmer's Market #3) by Nicole Helm, and A Gentleman For All Seasons by Various Authors.

Currently working on The Dancing Lady: The Ninth Lady (The 12 Days of Christmas Mail Order Brides #9) by Mimi Milan for BL-opoly.

COYER Summer 2019 Sign Up Post

I am going to do a more laid back COYER this season, as it is happening at the same time as BookLikes-opoly and I have the move coming up. My approach is going to participate in the social aspects (FB posts and Twitter Chats) and two of the read-a-thons, but not the treasure hunt. I will be using a reading journal to keep both games straight and be a record when I won't have Internet access. I am promising myself to be better at keeping track and logging my points.

1. Deserted Island June 9-22, 2019 (5 points)

My List: Maid to Match by Deeanne Gist (268 pages), A Talent for Trouble (Ladies of Distinction #3) by Jen Turano (264), and Rebel Cowboy (Big Sky Cowboys #1) by Nicole Helm (278 pages).

2. Evil Octopus August 11-24, 2019 (points will depend)

I have a lot of short books that fit the page range of 80-125 pages.

Social media participation will happen until I don't have Internet access. I have already put the Twitter chats on my planner (including local time slots).

So here's to reading down my e-Readers since I won't have access to physical books or libraries until after the move/after the challenge is over.

Considering I only buy ebooks on sale, the restrictions this go around seems really easy. There are only a few books I have on my 2019 reading that don't fit the restrictions. My problem will be library borrows, as the winter editions don't allow library reading to count.

My COYER TBR is just 15 books, which will allow for non-challenge reading.

1. You Can't Touch My Hair by Phoebe Robinson (memoir)

2. Cheer Up Love by Susan Calman  (memoir)

3. Rise of the Rocket Girls by Nathalia Holt (women's history)

4. Radium Girls by Kate Moore (women's history)

5. Mary and Lou and Ted and Rhoda by Jennifer Armstrong (pop culture)

6. The Sword Dancer by Jeannie Lin (historical romance)

7. A Dance with Danger by Jeannie Lin (historical romance)

8. North to You by Tif Marcelo (contemporary romance)

9. Radio Girls by Sarah-Jane Stratford (historical fiction)

10. Sweet Disorder by Rose Lerner (historical romance)

11. Deliver Me by Farrah Rochon (contemporary romance)

12. Somewhere in France by Jennifer Robson (historical fiction)

13. Ellis Island by Kate Kerrigan (historical fiction)

14. Star Dust by Emma Barry and Genevieve Turner (historical romance)
