Gothan City Sirens #14
Gotham City Sirens #14 - Tony Bedard

5 Stars, buy it.

New artist and writer I believe, not sure if I like the new artist. Poison ivy isn’t as hot though Selena still is.  Ivy is shown this humanoid plant like thing in her new position. Harley and Catwoman go after Ivy as she hasn’t been home and discover her in a state they aren’t really familiar with. Ivy joins up with alien plant dude and it appears they are going to try to take over earth. While the new artist or new style may take a little getting used to, the writing is still awesome and I’m thinking about jumping into issue 15 already since this was so good. But so much other stuff to read!!

Legenderry A Steampunk Adventure #1
Legenderry A Steampunk Adventure #1 - Bill Willingham

5 Stars, buy it

Self Purchase, Comixology

I like how spunky and confident the main character is.  The plot was a lot of fun and the main character, a woman kicked some serious bad guy ass. The woman owns a nightclub and mid dinner a woman comes running in screaming for help. The main character, whose name I can’t remember, comes to her rescue and kills the men who were chasing her. It’s determined that the woman needing help was looking into the disappearance of her sister and despite being told to stop looking she kept inquiring. The main character and her companion are determined to help the young woman.

A very promising comic (I think it’s a mini comic in that there are only 7 issues). It’s written by Bill Willingham who is the long time writer of Fables so it’s no surprise its written well. My only complaint is that the women are all busty and are exploding out of their clothes. It’s not a big deal but just a minor annoyance.  It’s supposed to be steampunk but so far, it only seems minorly so. In anycase, I really, really enjoyed this and if you like kick ass women and steampunk I really recommend this. Will go purchase the rest of the series now. :-)

Saga #23
Saga #23 - Brian K. Vaughan,Fiona Staples

5 Stars, Buy it

This one is titled Betrayal. I am so reluctant to read this one.  Holy crap.  There is way too much stuff going on in this one to do a summary without giving spoilers away.  Lets just say this issue continues to be amazing.  I think I have one more issue before I’m caught up. Again, it will probably be a long wait for another issue to come out.  But boy is this an emotional rollercoaster!!

Saga #22
Saga #22 - Brian K. Vaughan,Fiona Staples

5 Stars, Buy it

So Marko still has no idea that his wife is on drugs. This is so not going to end well is it? Alana makes Marko leave. I think my soul might just have been crushed. NOOOOO!!!!  Not quite sure how the Prince robot is connected in all of this but at least I have one or two more issues before i’m caught up and have to wait endlessley for the new issues to be released.  Not only is the story amazing and original, the writing rocks and the art is out of this world. And In any case, read this series, even if you think you don’t like graphic novels, seriously this series is awesome!

Lookouts No. 2
Lookouts No. 2 - Ben McCool,Robb Mommaerts

Overall: 3.5 Stars, borrow

Star Rating Art: 4 Stars

Star Rating Story: 3 Stars

Self Purchase, comixology.

First Impression: Art is as lovely as the first one.

I really like how the art fills all of the panels. For some reason, I really like that. I have to keep reminding myself sometimes that some of these comics are meant for younger readers. Like this one. But despite knowing that, I still find the plot to only be average and not very exciting or interesting and also not very original. On the other hand, I really like the artwork. It’s a fun read, but really meant for kids, not super exciting or intreaging for adults.

Plot/Storyline: The kids are trying to get past a troll on a bridge and have to solve a riddle. But it turns out to be a training exercise. Dore is told he has to study to learn how to solve riddles but he refuses to do so and goes off to fight a creature by himself and it ends there.
