Storm Warned
Storm Warned - Dani Harper

Caris was turned into a grim (a death dog) by a fae prince who sought more power. Prior to that she ran her father's farm, while he drank his days and nights away. Caris was a gifted musician. Liam was also a gifted musician whose career was flourishing. After his wife cheated on him, he retreated and became a hermit on his family's farm.
This was an entertaining read with fun secondary characters. I really liked Caris; she was strong and stood up for herself. Ranyon (I've got a charm for that!) and Morgan make appearances. Aidan, Brooke, and Rhys are mentioned in name only.

New Release Review! Storm Crossed (Grim # 4) by Dani Harper

The latest stand-alone novel in Dani Harper’s Grim Series will delight old and new fans alike, transporting them to the ancient fae realm beneath the modern human world, where magic rules and menace abounds…

Heir to a noble fae house, Trahern is forced to watch helplessly as his twin brother is cruelly changed into a grim—a death dog—as punishment for falling in love with the wrong person. Trahern doesn’t believe love exists, but he will do anything to keep his brother alive—even join the Wild Hunt and ride the night skies of the human world.

Lissy Santiago-Callahan believes in love but has no time for it. She’s busy juggling her career as an academic and her home life as a single mom to a young son with Asperger’s. Her hectic life in sleepy Eastern Washington is made even more chaotic with the sudden arrival of a demanding fae and his unusual “dog.”

Mortal and immortal have nothing in common, and the attraction between Lissy and Trahern surprises them both. But when their desire places Lissy and her child in the path of a deadly faery feud, will the connection last, or will their separate worlds prove too great a divide?

I have to be honest and tell you that while I have been intrigued by this series for some time, various life events have intruded upon my time and I kept getting distracted from reading it. I am very sorry to have done so, because after finally reading one, I can’t believe what a great world I have been missing.

There are plenty of fae books out there and each and every author puts there unique touches to their worlds and Dani Harper has done the Grim or Black Dog legends proud. She brought her world to life by painting very vivid images of it and giving readers some strong, compelling characters that reach out and grab reader’s attention.

Trahern and Lissy are two of those characters and I have to tell you that they have some strong chemistry that practically leaps off the pages during their romance. Both pull readers in and refuse to let go as their story is full of emotional turmoil as well as heated passion and their personalities are realistically human and fae sounding which makes for a really great romance to get caught up in. Lissy’s son and Trahern’s brother also play an integral part of this romance which adds depth and also adds to the realness of the story as well as tugging on heart strings.

Add in the Wild Hunt, an unbalanced power hungry fae queen, well-meaning friends and some other intriguing characters and you have a well-rounded story full of suspense and thrills that keep readers glued to the pages and that’s not to mention the adrenaline pumping magical battles that the author brings to vivid life.

Well, I have to be going now because I am off to read the first three books in this series since I am such a goof that I missed them, oh and I want to point out that I had no trouble reading this one out of order and I can’t wait to find out what this author has in store for me not only that I have missed but what she writes in the future.

Only Okay
Changeling Moon (Changeling Series #1) - Dani Harper

I don't have much to say, it was okay. I didn't even make one note while reading this. There was nothing new with characters that just weren't interesting enough to want more. I will not be continuing the series.

The Holiday Spirit
The Holiday Spirit (All She Wants for Christmas is a Ghost...) - Dani Harper

Not sure on romantic ghost stories, but Galen wasn't quite a ghost. Kerri has the ability to see, hear, and communicate with ghosts. She has a whole system setup for helping them. It's actually kinda interesting how she goes about doing that (with help of course). Galen is a healthy firefighter who suddenly becomes comatose. His soul (or whatever you want to call it) wonders and finds Kerri. They connect. The ending was a bit convenient, but hey, I wanted a happy ending. Good shower scene.

Changeling Dawn
Changeling Dawn - Dani Harper

Pretty good.  I enjoyed both Kenzie and Josh.  The addition of Anya added to the story too. The secondary characters were likeable as well.  I was a bit disappointed in something Kenzie did towards the end of the book.  She believed something that a certain someone told her, after that someone had already betrayed her.  That was stupid and left me shaking my head.

For a last book, I felt it left a major story-line unresolved.  Kenzie's brothers (Devlin and Culley) are likeable and I would be interested in reading their stories (and that story-line getting a satisfactory resolution).
