Great Story and Characters
Darkness Rising (Darkness #9) - Katie Reus

Awakened after millennia, dragon warrior Reaper is ready to fulfill his destiny…until he sees Greer. With one glimpse, everything Reaper has ever known throughout his very long life is irrevocably changed. Greer’s his mate, he feels it in his blood, in his soul—but convincing her is another matter. The dragon clan healer finds him obnoxious and annoying, but he knows a woman’s interest when he smells it. And Greer smells like one word: mine.

This author is one I’ve recently discovered, and whose books I’ve fallen in love with, thanks to these opportunities to review. Because of that, I haven’t been reading her books in particular order and I’m not sure I’ve read any from this particular series. To say the end of the book threw me for a loop was an understatement, which I was happy for. With the way Greer and Reaper meet, I was thinking it was going to be just another opposites attract fated mates-type book, but it was so much more! I absolutely loved it, but now I need to go back and figure out what ones I’m missing from this series so I can read them all. I highly recommend.

Book Review for DARKNESS RISING by Katie Reus
Darkness Rising (Darkness Series Book 9) Kindle Edition - Katie Reus

We have to say that this was our first book by this author and we really enjoy it by them and we loved getting to know all the character's as the were so interesting and fun.We loved Reaper from the onset and his cave man ways. After reading this story I really need to go back and start the story from the very beginning.

Reaper a Greer where amazing together and had amazing heat together and I am not talking about the, breathing fire kind.We loved their fun and flirty relationship.

I love reading about Dragon shifters and it was a whole lot of fun with great character's mystery and suspense and we loved that they had mates that where a different species as it just showed all the different personalities and alpha ways.

Overall we loved it and we are sorry we didn't come upon this series sooner but, now that I have caught the bug we plan on reading the rest of the series. We thought it was an awesome read!

Recommended read to all!

Darkness Rising (Darkness #9) - Katie Reus

Dragon warrior Reaper is ready to fulfill his destiny…until one glimpse of Greer irrevocable changes everything. She’s the polar opposite of Reaper and thinks he’s obnoxious and annoying, until Greer sees how fierce, protective, magnificent and mate worthy he is. With a menace threatening to tear the city apart, Greer and Reaper can only hope to live long enough to find out if opposites attract.

The final book in the ‘Darkness’ series is a ‘Wykedly Wild,’ stunning and nail biting read that has really gets readers blood pounding. The characters are strong and full of energy with some magnetic chemistry that pulls readers into their story. The romance between these two is a bit rocky but that just makes their relationship so much more spicy because the sparks fare flying and the heat is building.

The plot is faced past with lots of thrilling suspense, exhilarating action and magnificent battles that has readers’ jaws dropping in disbelief. The suspense steadily builds throughout the story so that readers are edge as they know something big is going to happen and then BAM! it happens and the readers is in no way prepared for the world changing events that has readers’ hair standing on end. The New Orleans setting for this major twist in the ‘Darkness’ series is a perfect back drop that really adds to the stupendous reading experience, so while readers are sad that it is ending, they are thoroughly pleased with Reaper and Greer’s story.

Darkness Rising (Chateau Seductions 0.5) by Lisa Carlisle
Darkness Rising - Lisa Carlisle
Darkness Rising is a short prequel to the Chateau Seductions series. We meet Antoine for the first time, and see how his life changed from being a gargoyle sculpter, to becoming a gargoyle/vampire hybrid recluse, owning a chateau and helping artists.

This isn't a long book, but it definitely helps to give you an insight into the enigmatic owner of the chateau. You are with him through the years as he says goodbye to his family and learns how to cope by himself. Two characters are introduced who will play a big part in the next book, Dark Velvet. We meet Cameron in dire circumstances and see how his friendship with Antoine grows. And we meet Savannah, who Antoine is immediately attracted to, but always want to help with her poetry.

For a quick dip into the Chateau Seductions world, then I can definitely recommend reading this short prequel. Definitely recommended by me.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *
