Plot Moppet
The Witch and the Werewolf (The Decadent Dames) - Michele Hauf

And while the plot moppet does provide some of the funniest scenes (well he doesn't really have a name and the heroine, Mireo Malory, spends some time suggesting names while our hero, Lars Gunderson, rejects them. This is book 3 in the Decadent Dames collection and while it probably would make more sense of some of the character interactions, it does stand well alone.

The plot moppet is pretty superflous with the rest of what's going on in these characters lives.  Lars is ill. It looks like he's going to suffer from the same thing his father did (now I know a lot of doctors who would want to study him extensively! I mean, werewolves are supposed to be healing machines! This sounds like a nasty, short span, werewolf version of MS. Her healing powers can help the symptoms but it's progressing and now that she's found him she doesn't want to let him go that quickly.

She wants more life and in order to do so has to eat a Vampire's heart, she wants to find a vampire who deserves death, preferably the one who killed her mother, after all she has more beer to brew!

The degenerative disease sub-plot is interesting and I'd like to see more disability with supernatural. Sneaks off to write some possible plot bunnies in the old plot bunny ranch. I did like how it resolved though and I want to see Lars build Mireo a comparable bathroom to the one she started with.

This is a supernatural, romantic suspense, werewolves, witches, vampires, and possibly a few others; I'm using it for Witches.

Fantastic Historical Romance
The Most Dangerous Duke in London (Decadent Dukes Society) - Madeline Hunter

The Most Dangerous Duke In London by Madeline Hunter is a fabulous, well-written book.  Ms Hunters cast of characters is phenomenal, from the good, the bad and the old and crotchety, these characters shine.  Clara and Adam's story will hold readers' attention from the first page to the last with plenty of suspense, humor, drama and sizzle. I adore this story and look forward to reading more from Madeline Hunter in the future.  The Most Dangerous Duke In London is book 1 of the Decadent Dukes Society Series but can be read as a standalone.  This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.

Decadent Dreams
Decadent Dreams - Nicole Garcia

'Decadent Dreams ' by Nicole Garcia is the story of Phoenix 'Phe' and Nico. Nico lost his wife about three years ago and to most people they think he had a good marriage but in actually fact his wife cheated on him. But Nico is still taking the lost of her and her cheating on him very hard. It has changed him to a very short tempered man who can't sleep. His business partner and friend has surprised him with a assistant. This assistant is Phe who may be short and small but she packs a lot of attitude into her small frame. Nico is instantly attracted to her and starts going into Alpha mode. Phe too is attracted to him but doesn't think he even notices her. They start to clash at work so much so the partner sends them both home. When something very traumatizing happens to Phe, Nico comes forward to take care of her. Can Nico learn to trust again? Will Phe let go of this fear she now has? I loved watching these two characters come together! I also loved the Epilogue that Ms. Garcia added for our enjoyment. Epilogue really put a a smile at the end of a book! This is my first book by Ms. Garcia and I am so happy to have found her writing! Another Day, Another Author Denounces Ellora's Cave for Non-Payment

Many of you are well aware of the disaster that's become Ellora's Cave Publishing (hereafter referred to as EC) and the well documented issue they've been having with making payroll. Well, despite the settlement between EC and Dear Author/Jane Litte, another salvo's just been launched across the bow.

Last Friday Jennifer Kacey posted over on Decadent Divas, asking her fans to no longer buy her books. Reason being: she hasn't been paid any royalites since Feb 2015. Nope; that's not a misprint- those are her exact words. She also poses a good question: in what country on this planet is it legal for any business to get away with not paying its employees- in this case, authors? Answer: there isn't one. She also contends that all her request for arrears and information regarding them were met with misdirection and indifferent silence at best, deliberate baiting and condescension at worst.

"...In any other business that's considered illegal. Guess what? It's illegal in this business too but EC for some reason has decided they're immune to actually paying their authors. Have they paid some in recent months? Yep. Have they paid me. Nope.

So before somebody over there gets a bug up their ass this is my information. Mine. I'm not quoting anyone else, though I could. I'm not dragging the horrible treatment others have received into this, though I could. I'm going to tell you my story. All of this is fact. FACT.

I'm not defaming liabling name-calling or anything else. I'm simply asking everyone, my fans, my readers and anyone else who finds this post NOT to buy my EC titles. I'll be removing them from my site as well. My books. How sad." She also has a message for anyone thinking of signing on with EC: "To the new authors at EC - RUN!!! Not walk, or even speed walk. Grab your shit and leave as fast as you can. They are not a reputable publisher. They've called us bad apples for months because we actually wanted to be paid or we wanted our rights back. Well guess what?

At some point you'll want to be paid, too. Do not sign with them. Do not. We are leaving in droves for a reason. Lots of reasons. Thousands of rea$on$...

And I'm sorry, you are not a special snowflake when it comes to them. You will get stepped on and thrown aside just as quickly as we were. Learn from us. Please. If even one person reads this post and doesn't pub with them then it will be worth it."

You can read the entire post over at Decadent Divas.

Wonder how Tina Engler aka Jaid Black will try to spin this one...?

Decadent Series

Sometimes to be happy you have to...break out of the box.

Lachlan Meran is a high school student about to graduate and find his way in the world. He thinks his life is set on its course and all he has to do is make a few decisions to keep it on track. That is until a betrayal causes his life to take a different turn.

When his best friend Konnor is added to the equation, will Lachlan be forced to choose between his best friend and what could be the ultimate love of his life, his 1st boyfriend?

The Other Side

Ignorance is bliss...the truth is terrifying.

It's been three years since Konnor lost Lachlan as a best friend. They still don't talk and Konnor has let his wild side out during college. Now, after three years at college, the six-month new student Grayson is his new best friend. Konnor is crazy about Grayson, while Grayson thinks he's as straight as a ruler and only wants to stay friends.

But Konnor is determined: he won't lose another best friend to his secrets. What will happen when Konnor tries playing dirty? Will Grayson fall for his direct, unashamed flirtations or will they prove to be too much for the straight-laced newbie?

Right Kind of Wrong

Even bad boys can get their hearts broken

Tam's done everything he can to forget about Konnor and their disastrous relationship. His new boyfriend, Giovanni, has helped with that. But six months into their relationship, he discovers that he's fallen into the same trap all over again.

Beaten, broken and falling to pieces emotionally, Tam wonders if there's any point in going on. A pair of copper eyes and a gentle smile rescue him, in his darkest hour, giving him a ray of hope. But then he discovers that this beautiful boy is related to Grayson, the new boyfriend of his ex.

Finally finding 'the one' in an unusually compassionate stranger, what possible future can they have, when Tam knows that Konnor will do all in his power to keep him far from the Dashwood boy?
