Easter Bunny Murder
Easter Bunny Murder - Leslie Meier Another holiday is approaching for Lucy Stone and this time it is Easter. Ever the busy woman, Lucy again has a lot on her plate. For those not familiar with the series, Lucy is married with four children and also has a grandson. She is also a newspaper reporter. More exciting, however, is she is also an amateur sleuth, one who happens upon many a murder scene and with the keen sense to identifying killers, and often at risk to her own life.

Lucy is currently trying to prepare an exceptional Easter meal. She is also working on her garden and is determined to make the holiday a lot of fun for her little grandson. She is also eager to do her annual story on the Easter Egg hunt in town for the Pennysaver, the newspaper she writes for.

Well, upon arriving at a fancy event, grandson in tow, the Easter Bunny suddenly drops dead. Lucy is currently at the estate of one Vivian Van Vorst, and it is her grandson who was dressed up as the Easter Bunny. In typical fashion, Lucy begins to investigate what could have happened.

Lucy quickly discovers that there have been secrets and lies hovering about, and that there may indeed soon be another victim. Meanwhile, Lucy is contending with husband Bill regarding a serious matter, and is concerned for her oldest daughter Elizabeth, as she is away and dealing with a minor health crisis.

This was another engaging read by Leslie Meier and I do look forward to the next book in the series, Christmas Carol Murder.

Bouncing fun
Mrs. Pennington's Easter Bunny School - Paula M. Ezop,Kat Marlowe
Overall *****
Performance *****
Story *****

If you could sum up Mrs. Pennington's Easter Bunny School in three words, what would they be?

Energetic, cute, Easter

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the innocence of the story the best & also that I was able to listen to it with my daughter in the room... although she thought it had pictures..

Have you listened to any of Kat Marlowe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Ihave listened to most of Kat's performances & I feel this one is more suited for younger children compared to the others.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed at moments in this audiobook, the story was cute.

Any additional comments?

I find that Kat can narrate for all sorts of books, she definitely suits children's books.

Silly Tilly and the Easter Bunny - Lillian Hoban Silly Tilly the mole, apparently her glasses give her a better memory, cause once they are lost, she has no memory. And will the Easter Bunny, remember Silly Tilly's Easter basket?

Easter Bunny Murder - Leslie Meier MY THOUGHTSLOVED ITLucy Stone, reporter for the Pennysaver in Tinker's Cove, is set to take her grandson to the annual Easter Egg hunt at Vivian Van Vorst's palatial estate, Pine Point. Something strange is up at the site when they arrive with the rest of the town to find the gates locked and no hospitality when her son, Van Vorst Duff (Van), comes out dressed as the Easter Bunny and drops dead on the porch. Even more strange is that VV has withdrawn from her social engagements and the charity checks she is so fond of writing suddenly stops. The town begins to talk about her lawyer and daughter who are now taking care of her and explain that she has been ill the last year. When Sue, Lucy's friend, comments that her daughter is now their cook and she can't cook, things really get suspicious. With the somewhat dubious help of Van's common law wife and mother of his daughter, Lucy tries to get to the bottom of the mystery of whether Van was murdered or just dropped dead of natural causes. Lucy's boss doesn't think the story warrants much coverage and she is met with dead ends each time she tries to solve the mystery surrounding his death but seems to ignore some facts given to her by a private investigator. I loved that the characters all seemed to be real and easy to imagine living in a small town. This is my first cozy by Leslie Meier, but I am definitely going to go back and read more. The fact that this is the nineteenth in the series was not a problem since it easily stands alone. I found that this is an easy story to get into and really enjoyed everything. I adored Lucy's daughter, Molly and hope to read more about her. The inhabitants in Tinker's Cove seem like and interesting bunch and I can't wait to get to know them better.
