REVIEW BY MERISSA - A Barlow Lens (Circles #2) by Elizabeth Noble
A Barlow Lens (Circles #2) - Elizabeth Noble

@elizabethnoble1, @TRRtweet, #Contemporary, #MM, #Mystery, #Romance, 4 out of 5 (very good)

A BARLOW LENS is the second book in the Circles series and we continue with Wyatt and Val as they try to solve a mystery from a time-gone-by.

I LOVED THIS STORY! I really enjoyed reading about the historical side of things, and how Tom and Philip managed to be together. Archie was a nasty piece of work and I really can't say I'm sad about his ending!

There is mention of horse-racing in this one but nowhere near as much as in the first, simply because it isn't the focus in here. I loved how it was still there and an important time for Wyatt and Val, but I'm also glad the emphasis was on Tom and Philip.

Two for the price of one and both thoroughly enjoyable. Absolutely recommended by me.

REVIEW BY MERISSA - Chained Hearts (Sentries #3) by Elizabeth Noble
Chained Hearts (Sentries #3) - Elizabeth Noble

@elizabethnoble1, @TRRtweet, #MM#ScienceFiction#Romance, 4 out of 5 (very good)

CHAINED HEARTS is the third book in the Sentries series, and really, I have no idea how poor Nick gets through each day. He has had so much thrown at him and it's not over yet.

Nick is suffering from PTSD following the attack by the Kelbit. Todd is also suffering with his health but refuses to see a doctor as he is too busy trying to find a way for them to survive and go to ground. They do find a small town where a reprieve awaits them but all good things must come to an end--and it does, for them both.

This was such a great book but I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you read it as a series or it just won't make sense.

Todd and Nick still manage to get some steamy times in but Nick is put through the wringer once again. I am loving the overall story arc that runs through these books but I can't help but wish they had some time to move that along, rather than be sidetracked by Nick being kidnapped.

The world-building continues to amaze and the characters are just as interesting as ever. Some new ones to like and some to dislike. I'll leave it up to you to figure out which is which.

Thoroughly enjoyed every word and I can't wait for this series to continue. Absolutely recommended by me.

REVIEW BY MERISSA - Together Bound (Sentries #2) by Elizabeth Noble
Together Bound (Sentries #2) - Elizabeth Noble

TOGETHER BOUND is the second book in the Sentries series and we continue with Todd and Nicky's story. I would definitely recommend reading this as a series as we deal with the same characters in the same world and if you don't, then this may not make any sense at all!

Todd and Nicky go undercover at a slave rehabilitation camp to try and find out if the Chancellor has gone crazy or not. It turns out he's not crazy, but he's not himself either! This is a dangerous mission, more so for Nicky in many ways, but Todd has his own battles to fight too.

I loved returning to their world and seeing how they interact with each other. I don't think this was as "hot and heavy" as the first book but there are definitely moments where Todd goes Alpha!

There is a great cast of characters in this book and I would love to hear more from them in future books. A fantastic ending that wraps up this part of their story nicely whilst leading onto the next... which I CAN'T WAIT FOR!!!

Definitely recommended by me and bring on the next!

REVIEW BY MERISSA - Run for the Roses (Circles #1) by Elizabeth Noble
Run for the Roses (Circles #1) - 2nd Edition - Elizabeth Noble
#Contemporary #Romance, #LGBTQ, #Romantic #Suspense, #Mystery

RUN FOR THE ROSES is the first book in the Circles series, and it is a much lighter storyline than some of her other books. There is also a hefty dollop of mystery in here for good measure.

Val and Janelle are best buddies, bonding over their past abusive relationships. When Janelle is kidnapped by her ex, Val sees it all and follows in his car to help her. Things go a bit crazy after that but Janelle is safe and trying to rebuild a relationship with Wyatt, her father. The attraction sings between Wyatt and Val and they get Janelle's blessing to be together.

There is a LOT of information in here about horse-racing and the build-up to events, plus what goes on behind the scenes. This is absolutely essential for the story and I'm glad I've learnt something too! However, some readers may find it goes into too much detail, but I'll leave that to you to figure out.

The relationship itself is very smooth. I can't say anything bad about it but it didn't zing off the charts either. If I had to choose a single word to describe the relationship between Val and Wyatt, I would say comfortable.

This is the first book in the series and it is one I would like to continue with. There are some interesting characters in here I would like to know further, and I would definitely like to see how Wyatt and Val's relationship progresses.

If you are after a light romantic mystery read, heavy on the horses, then I would recommend this one.

REVIEW BY MERISSA - Marked Yours (Sentries #1) by Elizabeth Noble
Marked Yours (Sentries #1) - Elizabeth Noble

@elizabethnoble1, #Action, #Adventure, #Romance, #LGBTQ, #ScienceFiction, #Futuristic, 5 out of 5 (excellent)

MARKED YOURS is the first book in the Sentries series and it introduces us to a post-apocalyptic world where the rules have changed. Same-sex partnerships aren't seen as any different to any other kind of romantic or love partnership. What is different is you can be chosen from birth to be either a sentry or a slave. To be honest, there isn't much difference between the two, although sentries have the illusion of being free.

I loved this story so much, and am so glad it's only the first book in the series. Nick was trained as a slave, and you learn through his history and flashbacks that the training wasn't all sweetness and light! Todd was trained as a sentry, and his training had the same pattern as Nick's. These two are starved for affection and each can give the other what they so desperately crave.

I would have liked a bit more information about just what it was that Nick and Todd could do, but I also, paradoxically, preferred how this book was about the two of them. How they had got to know each other. How trust was an issue for both of them. How they so desperately wanted the other to be safe.

The ending is perfect for this book, and it is yet another thing I would like to be expanded upon in the next book, or at least somewhere within the series!

A brilliant story that I adored, a series I can't wait to read more from, and a book I have no hesitation in recommending.
