Review: Enemy Mine (Vampire & Werewolf Romance) by Katie Reus
Enemy Mine (Vampire & Werewolf Romance) - Katie Reus

3.5 STARS

Reviewing the audible version. I thought the narrator did a wonderful job with the story. He kept the pace of the book fast and interesting. He made our hero’s voice sound sexy yet dangerous. I also liked that he didn't increase his voice one octave higher to sound like a silly girl when giving voice to Melina.

The story in itself focused more on the relationship among all characters than world building. I wish it would have gone deeper into explaining what Melina’s family business was and why it made her doubt Kiernan’s initial interest in her. Although I suppose given the length of the story it provided a practical reason for the hesitancy. Melina and Kiernan had great chemistry and the animosity between their families made a lot of sense once it was explained. I only wish the story would have been longer because the story felt incomplete somehow, like they reached a HFN instead of a HEA.

All in all the plot was well written so I'd definitely recommend it to anyone that enjoys PNR.

*** This is my honest opinion and given without any influence by the author or publisher.***

REVIEW

*May contain spoilers *

Kiernan and Melina had only been together once over a year ago but something happened during that one time that had Kiernan longing to be with Melina again. Melina's pack however would never allow that.
There is a long-standing feud between Melina's pack and Kiernans coven and because Melina is still very young, she has no idea. When someone tries to kidnap Melina everything that was thought to be turns to hell in a hand basket. Kiernan will do all in his power to save the woman he has come to love.

This is a short but sexy book. If you enjoy vamps, weres, action and romance then grab yourself a copy of this book. This is a re-release and the one I read.

I was gifted a copy of this book for an honest review

ENEMY MINE - Barry B. Longyear

This is a classic science fiction story about a man who becomes spaceship wrecked on a planet with his enemy, a drac. The two are thrown together in a survival situation where co-operation is theonly alternative to death.

A movie was made of this story starring Dennis Quaid, but much of the story is lost in translation. The entire last part of the novella was left out of the film version.

It's a good read, but also a commentary on the nature of cultural clash and prejudice that carries a timeless message. The characters are well-defined and it is easy to care what happens to all the main players, as well as their descendants.

The pot might have become slow in the middle if it had been a longer book, but I think the pace is well set by its short length. Nothing is wasted, even the ordinary day to day tasks that the survivors must perform to feed and clothe themselves.

I would recommend this story to any reader of science fiction. It isn't overly technical, but it does require some thinking to see the subtlties in the plot.

Enemy Mine
Enemy Mine - Megan Mitcham As reviewed on Read Our Lips:

Sloane, a tough, capable operative, goes in undercover in the home of the Devil in Sierra Leone. That she shared a bit of her childhood with his son and heir is something she´s trying hard to forget. She´s finally getting justice for what the Devil did to her parents, and for what happened to her life.
Well protected and armed, with guards in every part of the house, this is harder than anyone would think. But can she have an unexpected ally in Baine, the son? And why is the chemistry between them so flammable?
Romantic suspense, action and smutty fluff in a great combination.
