ARC REVIEW One Night Gamble by Katherine Garbera

Jokers Wild #1, Jokers Wild is a new Casino in Las Vegas it's owned by three friends who have been by each other's side since they were kids and they have in their each way made it big. Casey the gambler, Nicholas the magician, and Darien the dare devil; all three of them invested their money together to create a new experience for those coming to Vegas. Talia has spent the last seven years of her life cleaning up her father's mess, an inept gambler, if it wasn't for Talia her grandmother would have lost the house to a loan shark because he used it as collateral. Talia has sworn off gamblers she's concentrating on her job and taking care of her Gran.

Talia has the opportunity to get a really good job managing the social media for the new Jokers Wild casino if she gets this no more working two jobs. Casey isn't looking for anything more than a good time but a chance encounter with a woman not once but three times in one day has him thinking differently. One wild and hot night was all it was supposed to be until the next day when they realize Casey is Talia's new boss.

Talia and Casey's sexual attraction is very strong the chemistry is there, but Talia focus so much on the fact that Casey is a gambler and that is basically the epitome of everything she hates that as the reader I had a hard time seeing anything else in the way of Casey's redeeming qualities besides the sexual attraction. Whereas Casey loved everything about Talia you could tell even when she was being obstinate he still loved her and he was trying very hard to get her to see a future for them. Told in the third person POV you get a omniscient view of both sides of their story.

Overall, it was a very smokin' hot story. I enjoyed the characters and their story and I look forward to Nick and Darien's books.

This looked interesting, somewhat up my alley and I was eager to read it. I've read other books by Megan Erickson that I enjoyed. This one was just okay for me.

Marley is an editor at Gamers magazine. Austin is part owner of Gamers magazine and he's the author of the video game that Marley loves, Aric's Revenge. Marley thinks he is an IT guy who provides computer support for magazine employees. Austin does not correct her. He never willingly corrects her impression of his job description, although it's very clear to her how secretive and private he is.

Their sexual relationship is quite hot. Although, when they begin referring to each other as Aric and Evelyn (heroine of the video game) during the act, it totally took away from the scenes.

I was also uncomfortable with the relationship between Austin and his business partner (Marley's boss), Grant. They are LONG time friends, but something about the tone surrounding their relationship had me expecting that a secret sexual relationship between them would be revealed.

Yes, it has a lot of sex. I read few and skimmed the rest. But I also KNEW what I got myself into -- this being a Brazen title, which means it is definitely VERY steamy, so it will not be fair for me to judge it by my preference of lack of sex. So I'm going to focus on the characters and the relationship.

Except for the Tumblr addiction and then going to cosplay, I kinda think that Marley wasn't "geeky" enough. As for Austin, I would've love to see him doing more in the grand gesture part because the whole lie thing went a bit too long for my liking; which resulted in something very predictable situation.

By the way, I loved, LOVED, Marley's sibling relationship with her brother Chad, as well as Austin's friendship with Grant. Plus I thought Grant's teenager daughter was awesome. Wait, is that a problem that I like the 'secondary' relationship better than the main one? *lol*
