February Wrap-up
Scattered Souls - Erica Lucke Dean
Traitor to the Throne - Alwyn Hamilton
Hell's Gate - 'Jane Aitken (Translator)',Laurent Gaudé,Emily Boyce

Only 3 books finished this month, all Netgalley. But that clears my Netgalley list and I'm pushing forward with my A-list tbr.

I also read a lot of samples so despite also adding a lot of them, I'm down to 109.

Top prize for the month goes to Traitor to the Throne, sequel to Rebel of the Sands. These are some brilliant Fantasy! Can't wait for the next book to come out.

February Wrap Up
Forged in Desire (The Protectors) - Brenda Jackson
House of Silence - Sarah Barthel
Pachinko - Min Jin Lee

I only read three books in the month of February. I had such great ambitions to get through my tbr. February I participated in the hashtag #readsoullit started by Dee @browngirlreading on Youtube, Twitter and Instagram. I didn't participate in the challenge, but did post books by black authors for the 28 days on Instagram and Twitter. It was great fun and I loved seeing all the post from the participants.

Also, I continued with my goal of downsizing my life. In January I donated over 200 books to The Book Den, culled my kitchen and bathroom cabinets, removed unwanted and unworn clothes and shoes from my closet. Now in March I will research and find proper homes for all these goods. Also, In February I downsized my planner and craft collections. Whew! That was a task to go through everything and then reorganize. I feel lighter and brighter.

Now for the books I read. I gave Pachinko 4.5 stars. I deducted half a star because of the ending. Forged In Desire is really a 2.5 star read. It's the first book in a new series that I will not continue. Some books may have a new story but the pattern (can't think of correct word) is always the same. I can't anymore. House of Silence is a book I started in January, but didn't finish. Well, I actually put it down because I lost interest. I gave it 3 stars.

I hope that I can stay on track in March and catch up on some of the books I didn't complete this month.

February Wrap Up
A Darker Shade of Magic: A Novel - V. E. Schwab
Wolf Hunt - Jeff Strand
A Reaper of Stone - Mark Gelineau,Joe King
Horns - Joe Hill
The Golem and the Jinni - Helene Wecker

I finished some books this month, Yay!

Okay it's only 5, when some people manage to read 25 in a month, but I enjoyed them all and why not? They all came off my top level tbr!

There are more on that list to read soon. I seem to have half a dozen books on my 'currently reading' at the moment. Two of those are things to take my time and read slowly: A Dickens non-fiction that I'm reading about a chapter a week and a collection of short stories on the theme of Lava, which I'm reading one story at a time as and when.

Meanwhile I'm sort of keeping up with my samples. I still need to reduce the collection, but I keep catching myself reading too many Fantasy books at a time and that's what a lot of the samples are, so I'm spreading my efforts around other parts of my reading backlog.

Soon I will attack the free books slush pile, but I have to be prepared to get sucked in on those and I don't want to have too many going at once!

I'm enjoying my reading much more now. I just have to make sure that at least half my current reads include stuff from my A-list from now on! The rest is sort of random.

February Wrap Up | 2015
White Hot Kiss - Jennifer L. Armentrout
Obsession - Jennifer L. Armentrout

So it has been a while since I have posted anything. It has been far too long.  And I am so, so sorry for that.  I really have no excuse and I'm not going to try to bore you with excuses.

I managed to read a total of 3 books, one physical book, one ebook, and one play script, in the month of February.

The first book I read was White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L. Armentrout.  I really enjoyed this novel, so much that it put me into a bit of a book hangover.  I loved the characters so much.  Roth is a typical Armentrout lead male character.  Tall, dark, and swoon worthy.  I also really enjoyed seeing JLA's take on a more paranormal world, involving demons.  Although I love The Lux world, it was nice to get to see a different world from JLA's point of view.

{5/5 Stars}

Because of my JLA book hangover, I decided to pick up another book of hers, in ebook form.  That book was Obsession.  This novel is a sort of companion novel to her Lux Series.  This novel follows Serena, a human, and Hunter, an Arum who we meet in one of the later Lux novels.  This novel didn't have as much of a story line as her other novels, just a lot more intimate moments, so I can't say that I enjoyed it as much as her other novels. But it was still a really fun, and quick read.

{5/5 Stars}

Lastly, for a school assignment, I read Our Town by Thornton Wilder.  I can't say I enjoyed this as much as I should have. Maybe it was because we had to do assignments and tests and class discussions on it and it had just been read to death.  I thought I was going to like this a lot more than I did.  This is a greatly talked about, highly praised play, but I didn't quite see the appeal in it.  I found the characters to be a bit dull, I didn't like the way the stage was set, I just didn't like most things.  I did enjoy the concept of the play, just not the actual play... Sorry Thornton...

{2/5 Stars}

February Wrap Up // March TBR

 Another month with me reading only three books. Sigh. I just don't want to sit down and read. I need to find a good book to get me out of this horrible reading month.

I'm slacking!!

Moving on...

 Books Read:

Landline by Rainbow Rowell.

This book follows Georgie and how she basically put work first and how it affects her marriage and her family. Her husband leaves with their two daughters for Christmas and Georgie can't go because of work. They part on a wrong note and Georgie somehow finds a way to speak with her husband in the past.

This was the third book of her's that I read and while it was good, it wasn't my favorite. I didn't like the fact that it kept jumping between the past and the present. It was also kind of boring.

Stolen Songbird by Danielle L Jensen

I will be doing a separate post about this soon because there were some things that greatly irritated me and that need to be addressed.

This book is about Cecile and how she is kidnapped and sold to be the Troll prince's wife.

Very interesting concept and plot. I just didn't like Tristan. At all. More will be discussed in the actual post.

The Mad Scientist's Daughter by Cassandra Rose Clarke

I will also being separate post on this book (whenever I'm not too lazy) BUT THIS BOOK BROKE ME. The feels are real for this.

I (obviously) never got around to reading Crown of Midnight or Sentinel. Hopefully I'll get to them this month as well. I want to get The Winner's Crime this month as well because The Winner's Curse got to me.
