Haze sat in his car outside of the high school that Adriana attended. He was early and classes were still in session. It made sense to him why she didn’t want to tell her parents about them. He’d also sensed that she was hiding something, and now he knew. All those months she’d played him for a fool. She made him fall in love with her. What kind of sick game was she playing? He went over their times together and wondered if she had been honest with him but he heard what he wanted. Was he so desperate that he imagined that she was older than she really was? The bell rang and the girls came out in their uniforms. He saw them scatter off in different directions; then he spotted Adriana. She was in uniform, her raven hair was in a single long braid down to her waist, and her blue eyes shone as she talked and laughed with one of the girls. Haze looked at her as if seeing her for the first time. She looked fifteen; why didn’t he see it before? Her smile disappeared when she spotted his Toyota Rav4. “Haze.” She looked in through the passenger window. “Get in. Your dad sent me to pick you up,” Haze said icily without looking at her. Adriana got in and sat quietly. She placed her books on her lap and buckled her seatbelt. Haze drove off without saying a word.

The tension in the air was so thick that Adriana felt that she couldn’t breathe. “My love, I can explain,” Adriana said quietly. “Don’t call me that.” Haze gritted his teeth. “Don’t EVER call me that!” “I’m sorry, Haze.” Adriana felt her heart ripping out of her chest. She had never seen him so angry. “You lied to me, Adriana! For months you fucked with my feelings for your own personal enjoyment.” “I love you,” she cried. “Shut up! You don’t know what love is! I fucking loved you, Adriana!” A tear rolled down his cheek. “I wanted a life with you! I wanted a future with you!” He slammed his fist on the steering wheel. Adriana saw his knuckles turn white as he gripped the steering wheel. “Did you laugh at me? Did you tell your little friends what you were doing to me? Did you tell them that I almost fucked you?” “Don’t say it like that! You make it sound dirty!” Adriana wept openly. “I’m a pervert or pedophile.” More tears rolled down Haze’s cheeks. “I lied because I love you, and I was afraid that if you knew the truth, you’d leave me.” “Yeah? Well, I guess you’re right about something.” “Haze, please.” “I don’t ever want to see you again, Adriana. When you get home, tell your parents I quit. Tell them why I quit; tell them YOU BROKE ME.” Haze pulled up to the curb in front of the gates of the manor. “Haze, this can’t be over. Please, Haze, please try to understand,” Adriana pleaded. She tried to touch him, but he flinched. “Get out.” “I can’t, I don’t want this to be over. You have to believe that I love you. I love you more than anything.” “GET OUT, Adriana!” he shouted. “NO! I’m not leaving. I don’t care who knows.” Haze got out of his car and started walking down the street. Adriana got out and ran after him. “I love you, Haze, please!” she cried and Haze turned away. She stepped in front of him and forced him to look at her. “I know you love me. I know what we have is real.” “It was all a lie.” She held on to him. “No, baby, it wasn’t. I promise I’ll be good. I’ll tell you everything. I’ll never keep anything from you. I promise.” Haze pried her away from him. “I have to go.” He walked back to his car and Adriana watched him drive away. She sank to the sidewalk and sobbed.

Very Entertaining review by Sassy Girls Books
Bad Uncle (Family Portrait Book 5) - Gillian Felix
Welcome back to the Sassygirlbooksmz, last we saw the Banovic’s kids life was starting to take slightly different turns, Zax’s eyes have started to see a little clearer when it came to Leighann, Adriana was and still is madly head over heels in love with Haze and Kevin bulldozed the ever selfish Savi out of his path and managed to find love with L’wren. But who said it was time for rainbows and roses this is LA and the Banovic’s we are talking about.

In this edition of our favorite family the lid has been removed and booms and revelations have been unleashed. Kevin has it all a growing business and the love of a great woman but fear that his truth will be exposed is pushing his inner-self to leave behind his doubled life.

Zax can’t help but start realizing that his chance with LD has slipped or is slipping away from him, and being around her is getting harder and harder to handle.

Wholly Brenda (90210 moment), the truth that Adriana was so desperately holding on too struck her hard as hell the moment Haze found out BOOM WTF MOMENT (so thankful no commercial interruption when this happened). But damn you can feel the pain, betrayal, love being pulled from the revelation but I gotta say I’m hoping and still rooting for #Hazriana..

On the key players sweetie Kristin isn’t so sweet after all she is being naughty and when the sheets cool down what will happen when golden boy Zax finds out, and what would happen to Joel if Zax finds comfort in LD (time is ticking before Zax embraces his Banovic tendency to take what he wants no matter what).

Savi is out of it still but time is only a matter of time since a ghost from the ashes has risen…. I’m guessing this is his wild card to control Kevin….it’s only a matter of time..

And finally the moment we all been waiting for the voice taunting Kevin has been revealed and it’s a whopper but the bigger questions are why? How? What does he really want? And the fact that I (I mean we have to wait for the next book is like waiting for the next DAMN season premiere) this is why I’m anti summer all shows go into hiatus and apparently so do the Banovic’s.

I gotta say Gillian Felix is killing me very softly here because books 1-4 were like this great setup for the book boom that is Bad Uncle and no teaser on book 6 is urgh.. Well played Gillian.

****best line thus far Zax telling Adriana that her life is like a soap opera loved it****.

The Banovic Siblings : Friends & Liars (Family Portrait)
The Banovic Siblings - Gillian Felix
I was asked by the author to review this book.

This is the second book in the family portrait series. In this we are meeting the Banovic siblings.

Kevin, Zax and Adrianna Banovic

Personally for me there was too many characters, each with there own story. I don't think any of the characters had time to develop or tell much of a story.

Kevin is having an affair with an older woman, he is also her drug supplier. Unknown to him, she was his mother’s best friend in high school. He ends up saving Savi’s step daughter from her abusive boyfriend. He tries to end things with Savi but she starts to blackmail him.

Zax, he is loyal to his friend,Frankie, even though this friend is going out with the girl he loves and wants to be with. Zax has another girl after him, one he only sees as a friend.

Adrianna, she seems to have a split personality. She is this horrid mean girl at school, yet the perfect daughter, sister and friend at home. She got Astrid expelled from school but I have no idea why she did it.

This book didn't tell me much, it was like an introduction. I was waiting for it to get going and it ended. The ending was a little strange. I don't understand why Kevin would do that to someone he neither knew or was related to him. It chopped and change POV a few times. It was a little confusing. I wanted to know more about each person, wanted them to have time to tell me why they was doing something or acting in a certain way.

Since I haven't read the first book in this series I suppose it could tell me more about each of the characters. I found the ending was rather abrupt and very unexpected.

I have given the book 3 stars as i can see it has potential.

Banovic Siblings
The Banovic Siblings - Gillian Felix

Title: The Banovic Siblings
Author: Gillian Felix
Publisher: Createspace
Series: Family Portrait # 2
Reviewed By: Arlena Dean
Rating: 4

"The Banovic Siblings" by Gillian Felix was the second in the 'Family Portrait' new adult series. You will find that there were a lots of weird drama going on with these rich teenagers doing all sorts of things while it seemed that the parents were not aware of it. I found there were also many characters Kevin, Leighann, Savi, Haze, Adriana and Zax to name a few in this story and it was most interesting how this author was able to play them all out so well giving the reader a well written story. Now, you had to keep up in the read because something was always going on in this intriguing read. Be prepared for ...blackmail, love, emotions, hate and secrets. You will have to pick up this read to see for yourself how this author will bring it all out to the reader. All I can say is what a world these people lived in and with that being said I guess we will have to see what the next series will have for us.
