Inked Armour (Clipped Wings 2)
Inked Armour (Clipped Wings 2) - Helena Hunting photo PicMonkeyCollageinked.jpg

HUGE FAN of this series!! I loved it from the first word to the last. I was hoping for a strong ending and I was not disappointed. It was perfect. I am putting this series down as one of my fav's of the year! I want my own personal tattoo artist with piercings galore and a love for me that goes beyond any kind of love the normal every day person gets to experience!!!!=)

Inked Armour (Clipped Wings 2)
Inked Armour (Clipped Wings 2) - Helena Hunting Hayden and Tenley sucked me into their world! I really enjoyed this series. I'll admit that the bit of back and forth was a little frustrating and I really wanted them to get their shite together a little quicker than they did. ;)
Aside from that, I loved disappearing into their world.

Inked Armour (Clipped Wings) - Helena Hunting

I can't help but feel disappointed by Inked Armour. I really enjoyed Clipped Wings, the first book in this series, so when I saw this second book up for grabs in NetGalley, I was pumped! I was so excited to start it, and then very let down once I was into it. I don't know if I just wasn't in the right mood to enjoy this story, or what the deal was, but ultimately I found myself increasingly annoyed while reading this.

I swear if either Tenly or Hayden had one more breakdown, I was going to loose my cool. Enough is enough already. I wasn't expecting no problems from them, considering how "damaged" they came off in the first book....but I was not prepared for Inked Armour to be busting at the seems with over the top drama. It ruined a lot of my enjoyment in reading this book. Let me show you in gifs my feelings through most of this book.....

I was glad to see Tenly and Hayden not keeping anymore secrets, I thought that was a nice development. But I don't know that there was much more positive than that. I felt like most of the healing that we saw with both Tenly and Hayden was kind of vague and unrealistic. One therapy session seemed to work wonders for Hayden, as did hiding the things that he was so proud of that set him apart from everyone else. And Tenly just seemed to come back home, emotionally, exponentially ahead from where she was the last time we saw her. It just didn't feel real to me. I also would have liked to see the deal with Hayden's parents be more of a surprise, it was rather obvious to me. And was anyone shocked at how well Hayden appeared to handle that information?? He freaked out through this whole book thinking about this situation, and then when he figures it all out he was more composed than I had ever seen him be. WTF??

I think I might need to take a slight break from the NA/romance books. I desperately need a great fantasy or maybe horror book to read next. Just something different. I don't know that I have the patients to suffer anymore emotionally stunted cry babies and their extreme outbursts right now.

This book was provided to me by Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Clipped Wings and Inked Armour - hunterhunting I should have known what I was getting myself into when the story opened with the lyrics from a Soundgarden song. Blackhole Sun indeed. This story was a very popular Twilight All Human (no-vampires, contemporary romance setting) fan fiction. Sadly, it suffers from a lot of the cliches and shorting comings of AH Twi fic, and bad erotica, in general. At roughly 400,000 words in length, the story drags on far too long. The plot is sex scenes threaded together with cliche relationship drama that has more to do with poorly developed, two dimensional characters than anything believable or remotely interesting. I found the sex scenes to be overwrought and unsexy, mostly because Edward's laughable "sexy talk" came off more creepy than sexy, to me. He even uses a long list of ridiculous and childish pet names for Bella, like Kitty, that made me cringe and throw up in my mouth. This Edward is an Alpha male on steroids. His most defining characteristics being he's tattooed, talks like a sleaze bag and he has a big dick (another standard issue detail that every AH Edward always has). Too bad he lacks a personality and has the emotional depth of a teaspoon. I would knock out a guy if he said have of the "sexy" shit douche bag says. Who the hell finds shallow asshole, like this Edward, attractive? [Spoilers: a lot of Twilight fan fic readers and Bella freakin Swan, that's who.]Speaking of Bella, she isn't too much better. She is a carbon copy of every two dimensional, contemporary romance heroine who as every pissed you off. I got eye strain from rolling my eyes at her inane bullshit. Honestly, she was just so fucking boring, but so was this story. I won't criticize the writing style, because this is fan fiction, but be warned it isn't good. Even in the beta (edited) copy I have there are a load of errors. Not to mention the overlong story length (a side effect of it being serialize, posted chapter by chapter) and lack of the coherent story arch, another side effect of it being fan fiction. However, if you don't mind two dimensional characters, silly plots and cringe worth sex scenes you might find it a fun read.If you're interested feel free to message me and I'll send you a PDF copy.
