A Decent Stand Alone Prequel for Maze Runner
The Kill Order - James Dashner

Going into this read I did not think it would capture me.  Seems like the 2nd and 3rd in most of these YA dystopian books do that to me.  Hunger Games.  Divergent.  Most of these series tend to get worse with age.  With The Kill Order, however, I was pleasantly surprised.  I like the characters, although former military Alec was a little cliche.  I liked the flashbacks of the sun flare events and how the characters holed themselves up in the skyscraper in NYC.  And then their quest to find out what was going on and the crazy, zombie-like infected people around Asheville.  I greatly anticipated how this group would be connected to Thomas and Teresa, and guessed correctly that Deedee was indeed Teresa.

The Death Cure
The Death Cure - James Dashner The conclusion to the Maze Runner series may rank as the best for me. I enjoyed seeing the deception of WICKED and others to Thomas and his crew. You never knew what happened when and who to trust. Even though he did not opt for the memory surgery, or maybe that was not even real--maybe they just planned the killzone autopsy all along--, it would have been interesting to see him get his memories back. I guess I will just need to read the sequel, The Kill Order. Like many of the dystopian novel series, they spent a lot of time just driving/flying from point to point, but I liked how the story developed.

Favorite book(s) of the month: Coraline, The Castaways, Blutdämmerung

Books started this month but haven't finished yet: The Sleeping Prince

I mean there are two comics and one really short book in there but I'm surprised that I finished 9 books. Two of the books were a major let down BUT most of the books were just pretty amazing. So success.
