Moebius Arzach PB - Jean-Marc Lofficier Very, very disappointed with this. I am a big fan of Moebius and have been since the early '80s heyday of Heavy Metal Magazine. Lofficier's story is tried and trite, banal. Some art is better left un-worded, if I can invent a word (or is that an "unword")? The prose in this book is as bad as Moebius' art is good, which is saying something. I found the storytelling formulaic and just plain unoriginal. Anyone capable of putting one word in front of another could have written this overwrought, yet flat story (stories, really, to be fair). Only Moebius amazing art lifts this from one to two stars. Even then, don't bother. The black-and-white illustrations in this volume are available elsewhere in vivid color. I see that this book is rather expensive on the used book market. Better to save it up and buy a full fledged Moebius graphic novel than this one-picture-per-chapter cheapening of his amazing art.

Wonder Woman: The Blue Amazon - Jean-Marc Lofficier,Randy Lofficier,Ted McKeever I'm not entirely sure what I think about Blue Amazon, other than that I didn't like it. It's an interesting take on an alternate reality... I think. Ultimately, the artwork and storytelling is so muddled (not to mention short on space) that I never really got a firm grasp on exactly what this world was like. The artwork reminded me, more than anything, of some of the more excessive panels from Batman: Arkham Asylum. It really did nothing for me.

Now, Diana herself... Oh, dear. When I think of the essential characteristics of Diana, I think of her strength, her compassion, her faith, and her resiliency. Lofficier, apparently, thought only about her sex appeal, and decided to play with that trait in the most skin-crawlingly creepy way possible. And that kept me from enjoying the book.

Superman's Metropolis
Superman's Metropolis - Jean-Marc Lofficier,Randy Lofficier,Roy Thomas,Ted McKeever Ted McKeever did the art on this book. A very different look.. or "take" on what most superman books look like. Much darker. I truly like the unique-ness.
