Qintara One: Alien Dawn by Kaitlyn O'Connor Review
Qintara One: Alien Dawn - Kaitlyn O'Connor

Zhor was in turmoil.

Alien or not, the female he’d rescued was a pretty little thing, and with a womanly shape dearly familiar if half forgotten.

He did not even want to think about how long it had been since he had touched a woman.

Too long, and he wanted her so bad he could taste it, had to fight his urge to conquer, to take, to force her to accept him.

Review

This was a mess. I am a huge O'Connor fan but the tone of this book was off ad the plot was all over the place.

Abiogenesis
Abiogenesis - Kaitlyn O'Connor I forgot that the reason I kept avoiding this was because it was a menage. Bleh. Anyway... I had some real problems with this one. Mostly continuity issues. I was constantly thinking "No, that's not right - it directly contradicts something said in the previous chapter." And that really draws me out of the story to leave me confused and annoyed.

The story itself is slow. You're treated to a lot of Dalia, who lacks even the tiniest bit of personality, trying to figure things out in her own head. None of what she ruminates over is important - she never figures things out and nobody ever mentions them again. Honestly, the first half of the book felt like an entirely different story from the second half. They could be completely unrelated stories just cobbled together with a space-travel scene in the middle to explain how characters from Story A got into Story B.

Really, I can't figure out how to review this because I can't figure out what I just read.

Kaitlyn O'Connor consistently gets 2-3 stars or DNFs from me. I'm just not sure I should even bother giving her other works a chance.

Return to Eden - Kaitlyn O'Connor

I liked this book. A scientist from another planet tries to stop terraforming that is done without first finding out if the planet is inhabited. When he reaches Earth, he finds not only intelligent life, but a sexy lady :) Ms. O'Connor's books are usually good or great reads and this one is included.

A Real Man (Mirror, Mirror) - Kaitlyn O'Connor
  Short story

This felt a little like Pinocchio where he was created but instead of running away he was abandoned to see if he's turn into a "real man". Well he eats, feels and falls in love, so yes. Sweet story.

Atalantium I: Bride of Atlantis - Kaitlyn O'Connor
Alexis' new husband whispers in her ear that he killed her father and then dumps her over the side of the boat. She's rescued by a man who can change shapes but now has to either leave and prosecute her husband or stay with the man she loves. I thought she did too much waffling. "I love him but I have to escape." And then she wonders why he doesn't know that she cares for him. 3-1/2 stars
