Be My Midnight Kiss: Sweetgrass Springs Stories
Be My Midnight Kiss: Sweetgrass Springs Stories - Jean Brashear Love takes time. Jean Brashear gets that. The beauty of a Brashear novel is that despite the complications of life, love finds a way. Be My Midnight Kiss brings a chance to hope, a time to heal and the prospect of happily ever after. For Steph the road to happiness has had many boulders, but Gavin won't let that stand in his way. On it's own, Be My Midnight Kiss is an inspiration, but add in narration by Eric G. Dove and he takes the story in a whole new direction. Either way Gavin and Steph are a treat.

"Gun Kiss" by Khaled Talib

My Thoughts....

If you like a good fast packed thriller read along with some twist and turns, non stop action, some romance, friendship suspense, adventure, drama, descriptive scenery, with a interesting plot line and even some humor then you have come to the right place. 'Gun Kiss' involves Blake Deco [ex-military] who not only 'sneaks into Russia to steal back a gun that killed Abraham Lincoln' that John Wilkes Booth had used and hold on as we find him with another job and that is him getting ready to face a horrible drug lord in Mexico in a 'face off' due to his involvement with Goldie the beautiful Hollywood Star. With this gun get returned to its rightful owner and what about Miss Goldie... will Blake be able to keep her safe? To find out what all this is about you will just have to pick up "Gun Kiss" to see how well this author put this story together as all questions will be answered.

In this well written story there will be certain issues that will bring into play 'sexual harassment, gender inequality and racism.' Definitely Blake and Goldie story is quite a interesting espionage story. I also enjoyed several of the secondary characters being so well developed and Jack was indeed one that I did like in this story. In the end the reader will get a good read as the story comes together so uniquely.

Review of "Fury's Kiss" (Dorina Basarab, #3) by Karen Chance
Fury's Kiss - Karen Chance

I enjoy Dory.  Put off this one too long because starts with a chapter where she has memory loss (just not personally my favorite plot device).  I shouldn't have.  It gets away from that quickly and then a rousing story start to finish.

A lot of Dory in this one with lots of other characters almost in cameo positions and new ones more in the front.  So, good thing I like Dory.  More senate and fey politics, more about her other self, and absolutely more family dynamics (even some mushy moments).  Thankfully more of Louis Cesare and their relationship moves forward.

I'm not always a fan of the romance parts of UF books, but Cesare has certainly proven himself so was routing for them.

I finished the book happy with how everything from relationships, worldbuilding, plot lines, character catch-ups, and most "mysteries" were resolved except for that opening chapter memory loss.  Oh, that was resolved -- just not done well in my opinion.  Nor badly enough to spoil the read at all -- just didn't flow that well with rest of book where I guess I was right to side eye the memory loss opening.

Will be reading more in the series.

Ratings scale used in absence of a booklikes suggested rating scale:

★★★★★ = All Time Favorite
★★★★½ = Extraordinary Book. Really Loved It.
★★★★☆ = Loved It.
★★★½☆ = Really Liked.
★★★☆☆ = Liked.
★★½☆☆ = Liked parts; parts only okay. Would read more by author.
★★☆☆☆ = Average.   Okay.
★½☆☆☆ = Disliked or meh? but kept reading in hopes would improve.
★☆☆☆☆ = Loathed It. Possibly DNF and a torturous read.
½☆☆☆☆ = So vile was a DNF or should have been. Cannot imagine anyone liking.  (Might also be just an "uploaded" word spew or collection that should not be dignified by calling itself a "published book." If author is going batshit crazy in the blogosphere over reviews -- I now know why they are getting bad reviews.  Or maybe author should take remedial classes for language written in until basic concepts like using sentences sink in. Is author even old enough to sign a publishing contract or do they need a legal guardian to sign for them?)
