Stormswept: Finding true love in the midst of nature's fury.

Favourite character: Trey
Least favourite character: N/A

Mini-review: To be honest, I struggled a bit with this book at the beginning, and I think that was because of Sage's blind decisions to do stuff without thinking it through. Once she calmed down about halfway through the book, I enjoyed it a lot more and I can't wait to reread Antonia's story, as well as Dallas' story.

Hidden Agenda - Christy Barritt

Title: Hidden Agenda
Author: Christy Barritt
Series: Smuggler’s Cove, #2
Format: ebook
Length: 552 pages (iPhone)
Rating: 3 stars

Synopsis:TO CATCH A KILLER
Trusting the wrong person had gotten his father killed. CIA agent Ed Carter isn't about to repeat the mistake. Pulling a gun on nurse Bailey Williams may not have been the smartest idea, but the beautiful caretaker is Ed's only suspect in the murder. Problem is, her vulnerable brown eyes claim innocence and set off his protective instincts. The spark between them is undeniable, but Bailey could never trust her life—or her heart—to a man who thinks her guilty. But when the real killer returns and threatens not just her but her family, Bailey must place her faith in the only man who can keep them from being silenced forever…

Favourite character: Bailey
Least favourite character: N/A

Mini-review: See, I knew I was right to give this author another chance. In the last book (Desperate Measures), I gave 1 star because the main character annoyed the heck out of me if I’m completely honest. I think she used the fight or flight term for these two because Samantha is flight while Bailey is fight. I loved Bailey, she was feisty but also scared, which fit because it’s real.

Fan-cast:
Bailey Williams - Holland Roden
Ed Carter - Finn Wittrock

Synopsis: FRAMED FOR MURDER
Accused of murdering her estranged husband, widowed mother Samantha Rogers panics and flees. But the real killer is now after her and her son. She's desperate to find a safe haven where her past is secret. So when John Wagner offers her room and board in exchange for work on a remote island in the Chesapeake Bay, she moves to Smuggler's Cove. Samantha longs to tell her handsome boss why she's always looking over her shoulder. But when danger arrives on shore, the truth may put John in a killer's crosshairs.

Favourite character: Connor
Least favourite character: Samantha

Mini-review: Look here’s the thing, I want to read more of this author’s books. While the romance felt very odd and rushed and was not well-paced at all, I can’t wait to read her other books. (Don’t ask me why, I just am.) But this book was not my cup of tea at all. Love Inspired Suspense can be such a hit and miss with me, and this was a miss. A very big miss. Maybe it’s because of how absolutely paranoid Samantha was. I mean, don’t get me wrong, if a psychopath was stalking me and trying to frame me for my husband’s murder I’d be paranoid too. But whereas the paranoia in Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks felt natural and explainable, this just felt ridiculous almost. Like she’s on the verge of being put in a mental hospital. I just don’t know really.
I liked John, he was kinda cool. But I didn’t get that conversation 3/4 of the way through the book that they pretended didn’t happen just so they could kiss and live happily ever after. Again, the ending was really rushed. Not just the romance, but there was about a 5 page (and that’s for the iPhone, so it was probably more like 2 or 3 pages) of what happened and a quick conversation between Samantha and John.
Excuse the rant.

Samantha Rogers - Jennifer Morrison
John Wagner - Aaron Paul

Mission To Protect - Terri Reed

Title: Mission to Protect
Author: Terri Reed
Series: Military K-9 Unit, 1
Format: ebook
Length: 505 pages (iPhone)
Rating: 3 stars

Synopsis: When the Red Rose Killer leaves his calling card for Staff Sergeant Felicity Monroe, she knows exactly what that means-- she's on his revenge list. Her boss, Master Sergeant Westley James, and K-9 German shepherd Dakota become her guardians, but they'll have to act fast to escape the man who wants her dead.

Favourite character: Dakota
Least favourite character: N/A

Mini-review: I thought this was good. Although why every Love Inspired Suspense ends in a proposal is beyond me. It'd be more surprising if it didn't end that way at this rate.

I loved Dakota, he was great. Chase's cameo made me excited for his book. Any guy who turns red when you compliment is great in my book.

I guessed the end, but there were only two possible outcomes, so it wasn't surprising.

Fan Cast:

Westley James - Torrance Coombs

Felicity Monroe - Allison Williams
