A Miracle at Macy's
A Miracle at Macy's - Lynn Marie Hulsman This is such a great, sweet, loving Christmas feel good book! I loved everything about it. The heroine, Charlotte stays inside mostly and just writes for her food blog. She does have her dog and that is most of her world. One day Hudson, the dog goes missing and she is trying to find him. Henry, who is a somewhat uptight person is asked to help Charlotte find her dog. They set off to find the dog and find themselves growing closer too! A really sweet, enjoyable read that I was glad to have the chance to read and review! loved it!

Summer at Castle Stone - Lynn Marie Hulsman

'Summer at Castle Stone' has all the important ingredients of romantic comedy. Shayla is a likeable comic heroine who doesn't quite fit in the competitive, edgy world where she exists. Tom, a reclusive, ex celebrity chef is the perfect sexy, conflicted hero. Maggie, Maeve, Tony and Brigid head a cast of realistic and interesting secondary characters whose eccentricities enhance the story's comedy and romance. Shayla's identity crisis, which is deeper than a change of name, provides the misunderstanding, which threatens her chance of happy ever after.

The story highlights the ups and downs of 'living the dream' in New York beautifully and contrasts this with the community and quaintness Shayla finds in an Irish village and country estate. Castle Stone provides many hilarious moments as Shayla gets to grips with the country way of doing things. The insight into the world of writers and publishing gives this story depth and adds to the enjoyment.

Shayla is intelligent and street wise but her lack of close family support reveals a vulnerability that puts her happiness in danger. She attracts your empathy and you really want her to be fulfilled and happy. Shayla's and Tom's attraction and emotional connection give this story plenty of heat.

'Summer at Castle Stone' is a classy, witty story with lots of laughs, a few tears and most importantly heartfelt romance.

I received a copy of this book from Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

When I read the blurb for Christmas at Thornton Hall I was intrigued.

Juliet is a professional chef with a clientele that includes the rich and famous. Life seems perfect; right down to the designer corporate lawyer boyfriend who appears to be on the verge of popping the question. Then she discovers her boyfriend isn't exclusive and realises her house of cards is built on shaky foundations.

Christmas alone seems unavoidable so when she is offered a live in job at a country house she jumps at the chance even though it will bring her up close and personal with the residential chef Edward and the man who hired her Jasper the lord of the manor in waiting. Will she survive Christmas?

There are a host of supporting characters who are realistic and enhance the story and a plot with some surprising twists and turns. Christmas at Thornton Hall is a story of country house cuisine and living, self realisation and saucy romance, an enjoyable festive read.

I received a copy of this e-book from Harper Collins Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
