Good Story and Characters
If You Can't Take the Heat - Melissa Brown

Whitney had started seeing Nolan who was a well known actor about two years ago. Their relationship was on and off again . She had went eight months without sleeping Whitney had then ended the relationship.with him she blames the drinks for letting him back in her bed. Whitney had discovered Nolan was still sleeping with his ex girlfriend who was also his co star -Gina- while being with her.  But Nolan was stubborn and wanted Whitney back . But Nolan was Nolan and didn’t change even though he said he had and Whitney wasn’t surprised. Whitney’s best friend was Elle and she was waiting for Whitney to wake up and get Nolan out of her life for good. Whitney had been in the entertainment business for ten years, she had worked her way up from mail room coordinator to casting director for three prime time tv dramas. The head of the network was Saul and he wanted to see Whitney and she had no idea why.  Saul presented Whitney the idea of a new culinary reality show. Whitney was choose to head the casting calls in ten big cities across the U, S. searching for the next outstanding chef who after winning the competition would get his/hers own cooking show. The producer was to be Chris Geldermann who was at the top and was very professional and a kind and true to his wife family man who didn’t hit on Whitney. The relationship between a producer and the casting director was very important and Whitney respected Chris. Whitney had two months to finish up her other responsibilities before going on the road for the new proposed show. The cities Whitney would be going to were Nashville, New Orleans, Austin, New York, Chicago, Baltimore, Albuquerque, San Francisco. And Billings,Montana. During Whitney's travels to find the chefs to be on the show Whitney met a former British rugby player turned chef Charlie and a cowboy who owned hsi own restaurant - Wes. Whitney was open about no exclusive relationships and when she chooses the one man she wants to be with she will immediately stop seeing the other two men in her life.

I really liked this story but felt Whitney was fooling around a bit too much. Especially with prospective clients that isn’t very professional. Granted the men were hot And Honestly i can’t blame her but still where was the professionalism. The plat was good and so was the writing. I like the way the story was set and rooted for Whitney to find her HEA . I loved the characters and all the ins and outs Whitney goes through. I recommend.

I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Great Story and Characters
Red Carpet Kiss - Melissa Brown

Eleanor/Elle   had created the character of Riley, and was head writer and showrunner of “ Follow The Sun” the most popular television drama. Elle was also a perfectionist. The show was based on her novels. It meant everything to Elle. Trey had broken Elle’s heart and that is what the show is based on. The scenes had to right because if Troy happened to watch her show it showed she was whole, fulfilled, and satisfied. Linus was Elle's terrier and she had just turned 35, and was celebrating at home with Linus. Ten years before she had married and it lasted thirty six hours. Elle's best friend was Whitney and even she didn’t know everything. Troy and Elle had became friends in ninth grade and together most of the time their teen years. Then Nolan her show's male lead announces he is leaving the show but Luke takes his place once he is gone. Elle and Luke have some hot chemistry between them. Then Elle and Luke go to a famous restaurant and encounter Troy as he owns it. Now Elle is very confused about what to do.

I loved this story. I thought the plot was great. I was ready to hate Troy when he came back into the picture but he did win me over. I truly enjoyed this story and the characters were excellent. Especially Elle and all the twists and turns she goes through.  I highly recommend.

I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Red Carpet Kiss
Red Carpet Kiss - Melissa Brown Red Carpet Kiss - Melissa Brown A fun, sexy surprise. Drama within a drama. Red Carpet Kiss is not your average love story. Set in the backdrop of show biz, it's anything but ordinary. The world of fame, television and make believe adds an element of mystique. Add in a highly rated television series and a love triangle between the show's writer (Elle), star (Luke) and a former love (Troy) and sparks definitely fly. This is my first time reading Melissa Brown but it will not be the last. Red Carpet Kiss is sexy, funny and addictive. Received an ARC for an honest review.

The Housewife Assassin's Handbook
The Housewife Assassin's Handbook - Josie Brown,Melissa Moran At some point in time, I remember seeing the cover of this book and it peaking my interest. I honestly don't remember where or when, but it's familiar. And the title struck a cord with me, The Housewife Assassin. It just sounds intriguing, no? That's why when I saw it on Audiobook Jukebox I just knew I had to give it a chance and at only about 6 hours long, it went by very quickly.

Donna Stone is a housewife and mother. She has three children, lives in a very exclusive gated community in southern California, manages the house and her kids very busy lives. Maybe not as well as some of the other Mommies in the carpool, but then again, they don't have to worry about clean up after torturing information out of an arms dealer and trying to make it on time to pick up the kids from after school. Yes, Donna is a covert agent for ACME, a government sanctioned agency that handles black ops. She became an agent after finding out that her husband was an agent and was killed while she was in the hospital giving birth to their third child. After a couple of months, his boss had to give her the bad news that his paychecks and benefits were going to stop. After she shot an attempted intruder, she was offered a job. That was 5 years earlier. Donna has now become quite the assassin with 40+ kills to her credit, each one a step in the direction of taking down the rogue group that killed her beloved husband and took away the father of her children.

Believe it or not, this was a light hearted, almost slapstick thriller. Were there tense moments and scintillating action? You bet. But it was told with quick quips and sarcastic humor and kept mostly PG-13. Think of movies like Killers, This Means War or even The Spy Next Door. There were some dark moments, especially towards the end, but overall I spent more time giggling than shocked or dismayed.

Melissa Moran did a great job bringing the characters to life. The tone and inflection were spot on. I especially loved the Stepford-esque quality she gave to the Perfect Housewife Advice at the beginning of most of the chapters. The had me snorting and cackling with the over the top tips and tricks to keeping your household running smoothly while eliminating your enemies.

Overall, this was quite an enjoyable read. There were enough twists to keep me interested, and some interesting 180's that I never saw coming. The story left me satisfied, but wanting more, so 4 stars.

Absolutely loved it!
Wife Number Seven - Melissa Brown

I absolutely enjoyed this story. I've been on the hunt for a different read lately. I enjoy the typical romance, but I needed something different. This was it.

I enjoy the show Sisterwives and it intrigues me the way these women live. I want to say, this book is nothing like the show Sisterwives. The wives are not good friends like you see in the show. They don't get to live normal lives. A prophet tells them how to live each day. They wear no make-up, never cut their hair, must wear dresses that cover everything, and live on a compound. They are expected to have child after child until they can't have children anymore.

Brinely, however, likes to visit the outside world, and one day comes upon an exiled man from her community. One touch from him and she discovered what she's been missing. One touch from him, and something new is born. But she can't just leave her home and compound. All she's ever known is the life she lives and as far as she knows, if she leaves that compound, she'd going to hell. But she realizes she is sinning from her thoughts, and she had to decide to redeem herself or not.

This is a very heart felt story. I was engrossed from the time I started it. I really enjoyed it and will be reading this author again.
