NA mediocre hell
FLY - Molly McLain

The story is incomplete, it's a cliffhanger, folks.
Now that is out of the way because SIGH, here's my personal opinion.

It clearly states this is book 1 but I felt lost as all get out in the beginning as people and relationships are thrown at you with no context or explanation. The hero and heroine supposedly have this epic friendship, but other than it being said over and over, I see no evidence of it. Every dude wants the heroine, every woman wants the hero and he likes to partake, heroine is the hero's emotional crutch, and hero likes to throw money at heroine.

This was almost 200pgs of the hero and heroine wanting to make a move on each other but scared the other one still just wanted to be friends. Which could have worked wonderfully but that was the only depth to our characters. The heroine has a little bit background with her father having a traumatic brain injury but even that wasn't fleshed out too great. The hero's fmx bike career somewhat touched on, the author has a brief scene listing a bunch of tricks and the over and over mentioning of hero having women throw themselves at him.

More context needed and less NA cliche been there done that. I also almost lost an eye rolling it so hard at the ending cliffhanger.

16 stories all connected by one MMA/Charity event in Vegas on New Year's Eve.

Proceeds to benefit VETSports

A nice array of stories. Some better than others...

description

ROCKIN' THE SUITE - Rhonda James
3.5 Stars...this one was super sweet. A little abrupt in the ending in my opinion, but still cute.

THE MAIN EVENT - Sapphire Knight
2.5 Stars...found this one a bit hard to get into, to be honest. It did end on a sweet note, though.

DUET (ROCKSTAR #8.5) - Anne Mercier
4 Stars...I enjoyed this one a lot. I appreciated the author gave us a bit of a who's who so I was less confused and didn't have the feeling I was dropped into the middle of a story.

AS THE TIDE TURNS - BT Urruela
4 Stars...One of my favorites from the collection and really wish it had been a full-length story, or at least had an epilogue.

A POWERS PLAY (A POWERS THAT BE SHORT) - Harper Bentley
5 Stars...LOVED this one. Awesome from start to finish.

CRAVED (BOUND TOGETHER 2.5) - Lacey Black
1 Star...I didn't like this one AT ALL. Not a fan of a dude that f@cks a ton of OW while lusting after the heroine because he is too much of a pussy to go after her. Yucko...

DICED - Ginger Scott
2 Stars...Second chance romance that was WAY too short to do this plot justice. NO groveling and his excuse for leaving her for ten years was LAME. No way would I have let this douchenoodle back into my life.

TEMPTED TIMES THREE - M Never
4 Stars...Sexy as F@ck MMF. Not much more to say. Loved it!

FREEING HIS DARK EDGES - Kane Caldwell
4.5 Stars...SUPER sweet and had a bit of a KA feel to it.

FORBIDDEN ATTRACTION - CA Harms
2 Stars...This was just OK. Again this one ended SO abruptly. I know these are supposed to just be very short little stories, but this one ended like the author took a break, and just never came back to finish the story.

FORBIDDEN - KL Kreig
4.5 Stars...This one was SMOKIN hot. Damn, I am STILL fanning myself. Alas, this was just a short little taste of a new duet coming in 2017.

A WILD CHASE - BB Reid
1 Star...OH GOD another douchenoodle Boss that sleeps with different women EVERY night. Yuck didn't give a shit about either of these two characters.

BLINK - Molly McLain
4.5 Stars...I loved this one. It has some nice angst for such a short story.

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS - Alison Bliss
3 Stars...This one was just OK. Annoying miscommunication at it's finest. It would have been better had it been longer (IMO.)

TAKING GREER - Winter Travers
1 Star Ugh, this one was a total miss. I think the names "APOLLO" and "GREER" were repeated gazillion times in this super short story. Had this been a drinking game I would have been drunk by the third page!

A SHOWER FOR...THREE? - Allie Juliette Mousseau
1 Star...Way too short and the writing felt clunky to me. Didn't like anything about this one.

So as you can see there is a little something for everyone in this collection. I loved the idea of all the stories connecting around this one event, and really it's for a good cause, so what have you got to lose by adding this one to your TO READ list. ;D

BEND (Vegas Heat - Book One)
BEND (Vegas Heat - Book One) - Molly McLain Bend is a naughty battle of wills between two huge personalities. Ms. McLain pulls the reader in with this intense tug of war. There is no question that attraction bubbles under the surface and is just waiting to explode. Trent is a by the rules cop with high standards and a rep that precedes him, Kinsey is the object of his secret fantasies. The tension is thick enough to sink your teeth into but the outcome is about as obvious as the change of season. A stormy, cataclysmic romance full of grit and heated chemistry.

FLY
FLY - Molly McLain Taylor and Col are the stabilizing factor in each others lives. The bond they share is important to them despite time, distance and the travails of adulthood. But what happens when the tides change and intense feelings start to factor into the equation? Molly McLain has the magic touch when it comes to high octane reactive stories. She writes stories filled with climatic passion, that have a little bit of that naughty feel mixed with soulful emotion. Fly has a little coming of age added in but is still a beautifully written look at the path of friends to lovers. Requested an ARC of Fly from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

READ AND REVIEW

CAN'T RESIST HIM(RIVER BEND # 4) BY MOLLY MCLAIN

Release Date:  September 15, 2015

SYNOPSIS

Sometimes what you want and what you need are two very different things.

Always relegated to the "friends with benefits" corner of small town River Bend, Jenny Riley is done giving the milk for free. Falling hard for a bad boy? Not in the plan, either.

Sexy, emotionally-wounded Marine Reservist Brody Nelson just needs someone to lend an ear. A friend. Friends to lovers? That's more than he bargained for.

Neither wants a relationship. A long distance friendship should be enough.

It's not.

Warning
: This books contains a tattooed, pierced hero with a few surprises up his sleeve...and a hella sexy one down his pants.

REVIEWCAN'T RESIST HIM (RIVER BEND # 4) BY MOLLY MCLAIN

Can't Resist Him (River Bend, #4)Can't Resist Him by Molly McLain

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can't Resist Him a moving turn on a friends to lovers relationship. Molly McLain did a exquisite job of guiding the readers through this impassioned story of hope, absolution, maturity and tenderness. Brody and Jenny did not have an easy road. Painful experiences caused each to close their hearts to emotional upheaval. The fact that these two characters did not start off as anything more than acquaintances and slowly progressed to friendship, then love is what sealed the deal for me. Trust had to be built, a relationship had to be formed and love had to grow. I loved that because you normally do not see that within romances. I was blessed to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Can't Resist Him is emotional but valuable read.

About AuthorMolly McLain

Like many novelists, especially romance writers, my infatuation with a good love story began early. I don’t remember exactly how old I was, but I’ll admit that Barbie and Ken acted more than a couple of the story lines I had in my head (sorry, Mom, but, no, not all of them were kid-appropriate). The obsession continued to grow as I got older and, whenever I left home, I always had a wire-bound notebook and a blue ballpoint pen in hand. In fact, every August, I still get that goofy, schoolgirl itch to buy up oodles of pens and paper, because, while I love my laptop, nothing compares to writing long-hand. If the house is quiet and there’s a thunderstorm rumbling outside, even better.

Not that I have the slightest a clue what a quiet house is anymore. Having three rambunctious (but awesome) kids, a zippy dog and a pesky cat has completely blurred my memory of peace and quiet. Oh, and I have a husband too–I call him the FisherGuy–and he’s probably louder and crazier than all the rest. I think I’ll keep him though. After all, he keeps me in fresh fish year-round (yum!) and he’s good hero material. Did I mention he’s also a firefighter?

We live in Northern Wisconsin and, let me tell ya, living here has provided lots of small-town fodder for this writer’s overactive imagination. Of course, I know no one who’s lived anything close to the steamy experiences I write about (not that I’d tell ya if I did *wink*). There’s something inherently sexy about not knowing what goes on behind closed doors…or even better, letting my imagination run free, concocting all kinds of stories and scenarios and putting them down on paper. Or my laptop.

2014 is going to be a big year for me, as I debut my first novel early in the spring and the majority of the remaining series as the year goes on. I’ll also be releasing at least one, hopefully two, books in a second series. Both are set in small towns and both will feature smart, spunky heroines and sexy, smokin’ hot heroes. Oh, and romance…sometimes sweet and sometimes sizzling.
