Invent Superiority – My Personal Version

Invent Superiority – My Personal Version

In which I list all the cards of a deck and put some pictures of the ones I've changed. Won't interest most people who aren't into Magic the Gathering.

(It has a lot of pictures of Magic the Gathering cards, so I'm just linking it here instead of copy/pasting. Definitely over the 4mb limit)

The Awesomeness that is M:TG

I play Magic: The Gathering, just in case you didn't know.  I started back in 1994-95, then stopped in '96 and took an almost 20year hiatus. I started again in '15 as a survival mechanism to cope with a coworker who I daily wanted to throw under a bus [and when you swing a machete all day, sometimes you think about "accidents"]. Now I play a couple of times a month and just enjoy when I can play. Low pressure, low expectations. Some games go fast, some last for 2hrs.  It's all good.

So here are a couple of funny pictures. I'm not sure how funny they actually are if you aren't familiar with the game, but I'm willing to chance your boredom for my entertainment.

The Meme

Now this is just funny!

And that is why I love this game. 15 squirrels CAN take down the biggest baddie the Multiverse has ever known and Angels regularly destroy Demons.

Kids! Grrrrr...

Vent Ahead!

Sundays are the day that I have time to go to a local game shop and play Magic the Gathering with a former coworker and then come home and do chores and stuff.

A couple of weeks ago we met some college age guys who also play Commander, a variant version of Magic that is geared toward multi-player.

So we've setup a time that we all can meet. 3pm. I arrive early, so I can sleeve a new deck. Get a text at 3pm that the kids were going to be late. My coworker wasn't sure he was going to make it all, as he had to deal with his with his 2 kids. 4pm rolls around and nobody had showed up. So I left.

5 minutes later I get a text from the homeboys that they are only 5 minutes away.

I just threw up my metaphorical hands. I work all week, deal with life stuff after work, go to church on Saturday and then deal with house stuff on Sundays. Sunday is theday that I have a couple of hours open.

So to have it wasted by a couple of boys just frustrates me. Sorry to whine, I just needed to vent for a couple of minutes.

The Bands of Mourning: I've read 0%.
The Bands of Mourning - Brandon Sanderson

I am not looking forward to reading this. Because once I start it, it will eventually end. Once it ends, I'll have to wait awhile until the next Sanderson book.

It is an evil and vicious cycle.

A Planeswalker and Real Life [MTG]

I haven't been doing much reading recently. Not because I am in a slump, or don't have anything to read or because I don't want to read my books. Nope, it is simply because my hobby of playing Magic the Gathering is growing and I'm devoting more time to it.

I feel like Tron when he was turned into Rinzler: A Traitor!

I knew this would probably happen though, so I guess it shouldn't come as a real surprise. Magic isn't called Cardboard Crack for no reason. But I thought it would take me a solid year or so to get truly sucked in. Ha.

On the positive side, this can never happen to us:
