Never Seduce a Scot Book Review
Never Seduce a Scot - Maya Banks

Another really enjoyable vacation read, quick and easy as well as fast paced with the steamy parts. I really liked the characters and especially related to Eveline as I'm hard of hearing myself.

Eveline Armstrong has been feigning being daft to her family since her accident with her horse. They don't know she's deaf. She's been doing it the entire time to avoid a marriage. That is until she meets Graeme. Her fathers enemy, one she has no choice to marry. She feels a connection to him right away. But she's terrified of what Graeme might do once he learns the truth.

I'm definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series. It only takes me a few hours to get through these. Anybody that wants a fun romance should look to Maya Banks.

An Out of the Box Heroine
Never Seduce a Scot - Maya Banks

This is a tale about two warring families who are threatening the peace of the land with their thirst for murdering each other. In order to nip this in the bud once and for all, the King of the land decides to force a marriage between the two families. Neither are impressed. Graeme Montgomery especially, since everyone knows that Eveline Armstrong is "touched" She hasn't spoken for years, and all signs point to her not being all their intellectually. This is all due to and accident many years before. And he is upset that he would lose the chance to have a proper marriage and wife and produce heirs (at least he had morals about forcing himself on a woman who may not even be aware of the world around her. Points to him.). Not to mention Eveline's family is horrified that their daughter, who the have protected and coddled for years and who is disabled, is being delivered to their enemy like a lamb to the slaughter. A usual Romeo and Juliet tale. Enemies become lovers...but..the twist..

Our heroine Eveline is not "touched," she is deaf. And she is navigating a world that doesn't have the sophistication yet as far as dealing with people with disabilities, such as thinking they are cursed or of the devil, and go about warding themselves from their evil eye. I Thought this heroine brought a fresh take to a typical romance. Everything you expect in a romance is present, but the reader gets to experience this familiar story and the world through the eyes of someone they don't normally get many chances to relate, and that made the entire book for me.

"Never Seduce a Scot" by Maya Banks
Never Seduce a Scot - Maya Banks

If you're looking for engrossing, well-researched, vividly detailed historical accuracy, Maya Banks is not your girl. However, if you're hoping for a quick escapist romp that's reasonably well written, with a plot that moves right along, likeable characters who don't forget to bring the feels, and a generous dash of CrazySauce to keep things interesting? Well then, this is a good bet, especially if you can pick it up on sale.

The Montgomery and Armstrong clans have been feuding for decades. Determined to put a stop to the infighting, King Alexander decrees that Laird Montgomery must marry the Armstrong's only daughter. Unfortunately, Eveline Armstrong is rumored to be daft. Luckily, it turns out she's not daft, just deaf, and luckier still, she can read lips flawlessly and kinda-sorta-almost hear the hero's voice (and only his voice), so of course their happiness is assured... just as soon as they swim through the CrazySauce.

Never Seduce a Scot by Maya Banks $1.99
Never Seduce a Scot - Maya Banks

Eveline Armstrong is fiercely loved and protected by her powerful clan, but outsiders consider her “touched.” Beautiful, fey, with a level, intent gaze, she doesn’t speak. No one, not even her family, knows that she cannot hear. Content with her life of seclusion, Eveline has taught herself to read lips and allows the outside world to view her as daft. But when an arranged marriage into a rival clan makes Graeme Montgomery her husband, Eveline accepts her dutyunprepared for the delights to come. Graeme is a rugged warrior with a voice so deep and powerful that his new bride can hear it, and hands and kisses so tender and skilled that he stirs her deepest passions.

Graeme is intrigued by the mysterious Eveline, whose silent lips are ripe with temptation and whose bright, intelligent eyes can see into his soul. As intimacy deepens, he learns her secret. But when clan rivalries and dark deeds threaten the wife he has only begun to cherish, the Scottish warrior will move heaven and earth to save the woman who has awakened his heart to the beautiful song of a rare and magical love.

How to Seduce a Scot (Broadswords and Ballrooms)
How to Seduce a Scot (Broadswords and Ballrooms) - Christy English This is the first book in the series "Broadswords and Ballrooms". I enjoy Christy English books and love any Scottish Historical Romance. So I was in heaven with this book. I am so excited that this series is starting. Once I got this book I could not put it down..loved it! Our heroine, Catherine Middlebrook has come to town to find a wealthy husband to help her family and only has this one chance at the marriage mart. Catherine meets a unusual young lady and they become fast friends. Her new friend has a strong Highland Brother named Alexander Waters. Alexander is in town to get his troublesome sister off his hands and into a marriage. But when Alexander meets Catherine he is strongly attracted to her but Alexander is not here to marry.. only see his sister married. But their attraction is to great to be overlooked...so starts their story. I loved the secondary characters too.. and cannot wait to see their stories to come. I hope you would enjoy this book too!!
